Mendota PetSlip Leash - Dog Lead and Collar Combo - Made in The USA - Camo, 1/2 in x 6 ft - for Large Breeds

Family recommended it to me due to my puppers pulling in public. Ever since I started walking and using this mendota they understand. Also I’ve only bought one per dog and have one for each dog. My first one is 4+years old, high quality. Also own only large dogs.

This is a strong, quality lead. It is soft and easy on the hands - and plenty strong enough for my 100# Doberman. The slip ring is large enough that the lead contracts and expands smoothly. 1/2" is thicker than I imagined. For my big dog it is fine, for smaller breeds I would suggest 1/4" or similar. Strength-wise, I think 1/4" would easily be strong enough to hold my dog. I like the Camo color, glad I spent a few dollars more for it. Not as blah as black (which would've matched my black Dobie). 6' is a good length. Easy to loop up to shorten when I want Brody to walk next to me, but long enough to let him sniff the trees and bushes. Overall, I am very pleased with this purchase and would highly recommend it for large breed dogs.

This is a great leash for quick outs with a new puppy. We don't leave a collar on the puppy and have to run outside frequently during house training. This lead is perfect for quickly slipping over the head and the stop is super easy to adjust - even while carrying a puppy in your arms. It's super easy to slip the lead off when the puppy is put in the x-pen. The lead can close tightly with any pulling, so we wouldn't walk an untrained puppy with this lead - but it works wonderfully walking with our big well-trained boxer dog . Great quality and nice colors!

I got this for the new lab pup. It’s a solid leash, only complaint is it’s not effective for little dogs. It works, but does not achieve the desired corrective action, it just pulls as opposed to a quick correction, on a smaller dog. I think when he’s 6 months, it might finally fit. Works as a leash just fine, just doesn’t grab their attention for heel work.

This leash is great because it tightens when you need to but loosens up when the dog is not pulling. It is also great for when you are in a hurry and need to just slip something on the dog. The leash feels great on my hands and is thick enough for me to hold and does not slip out of my hands. I also like that it is smooth. Great purchase and is great for the dog as well.

It's the best leash I'v ever own. I have to admit when I open the package I thought I made a mistake. It seems too thick (1/2') for my 25lb dog. I was going to return it but it felt so nice in hand so I decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did. Its very comfortable to hold. Its very easy to put on and take off. Its also easier to control my dog during walks too. Highly recommend it!

I have an Australian Cattle Dog (recently adopted) who was reluctant to obey commands outside of the house and this leash is working like a charm. Using the instructions I was given he responds with a little enticement pressure using the leash. I was worried I was going to have to get a chain but this is doing the trick for my dog and that is the key. It is the appropriate amount of pressure for 'your' dog. This one works for mine but may not for yours as indicated by other reviewers.Absolute worst case scenario you have a lead you can use when you take your dog to the vet so you can't go wrong with the purchase.

This is the second one I buy from same brand. The previous one lasted 5 years and finally the ring snapped (a handy person could’ve fixed it but not me). The material of the leash is half way from totally soft to too harsh. It is somewhat soft and it becomes even softer with use (if your dog is a tugger, then you may need to use it sporadically until it softens because it could be a bit abrasive where the ring puts pressure). Overall, I only want this brand. The stopper becomes a bit loose with use but this is common with all the brands. I found my dog does not need the stopper too tight on his neck anyway, if he runs forward the leash will tighten. I do recommend this product.

Really nice looking lead and strong material. Good for extra length and my dog doesn't seem to pull as much.

My biggest pet peeve is how slippery the rope is. The stopper moves all the time, so when ever I use it, it loosens and has to be readjusted again. The handle is nice and sturdy at least. Good for an already trained dog I'd say.
