The Magic Sleepsuit is an innovative baby sleepwear product that helps transition babies from the swaddle by providing them with a cozy and secure feeling, and muffling their reflexive startles to aid in their sleep. The Magic Sleepsuit was created by a mother of four who is a pediatric physical therapist to improve the quality and duration of her babies' sleep. The patent pending Magic Sleepsuit is designed for back sleeping in the crib, and replaces loose bedding while providing your baby with a cozy, calming and safe sleep environment that will become a consistent part of their sleep routine. The Magic Sleepsuit has a soft, comfy microfleece outer layer and breathable cotton inner layer with a layer of poly-fil in between for just enough comfort. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be introduced at approximately three months of age and helps the transition into the crib without the need for parental intervention (holding, nursing, rocking, etc.). The Magic Sleepsuit provides babies with the comfort they need by muffling those twitches and startle-type movements that can wake them prematurely, and by keeping them cozy and secure making it easier to go to sleep on their own or fall back asleep if woken. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to aid the baby's sleep patterns, but also gives the parents and/or caregivers peace of mind that their baby is getting adequate rest necessary for appropriate growth and development. It is recommended that babies transition out of the Magic Sleepsuit by approximately 9 months of age, the age when babies are sitting, crawling and starting to pull to standing independently. This is also an age when good sleep patterns should be established. The Magic Sleepsuit is designed to be used in the crib for back sleeping only, the recommended position for sleep to reduce the risk of SIDS. The Magic Sleepsuit helps eliminate the need for blankets and other loose bedding, which is consistent with many recommendations to prevent SIDS.

Great product
I was initially a little sceptical about this sleep suit, however had heard some excellent things from other mothers.I had been swaddling my daughter from birth as I found that she was waking very often due to the startle reflex and this was causing us some sleepless nights and was soon eased with swaddling. However, once she learned how to roll, she wouldn't stay in the muslins anymore and I was concerned that she might suffocate on a loose end.The Baby Merlin sleep suit is great, I just put her down with a vest on underneath and the sleep suit is warm and cosy for her so we don't need a blanket on her either. It supports her in a comfortable position and dumbs down that reflex that wakes her often.I remember thinking that the sleep suit was a little pricey, but actually it's worth it's weight in gold. When it goes in the wash (usual washing machine load and then air dried) we notice the difference in her sleeping pattern in just a sleeping sack. This is a great product for transitioning from swaddling.

Lovely product just don't expect miracles...
Bought this as I've just moved back to the UK from Africa and needed something warm to replace a light sleeping bag I was using. Whilst the sleep suit is not necessarily magical in keeping my baby asleep, it does seem to delay the inevitable wakenings and keeps him cosy and warm and comfortable. It's nicely made and easy to get into and out of (my baby hates things that take too long to get into or out of). Size-wise - he is 4 months old but quite big (8kg) so I bought the 6-9month size and whilst it is a bit big for him yet it is still safe and snug and he now has room to grow into it. Overall am pleased, but as I said - "magic" might be a bit strong :-)

Not helped. V small size
Quality is fine but size is not 3 to 6. My baby is 7 weeks old and admittedly a large baby at 14lbs . However for this reason size 3 to 6 months should have been adequate. It barely fits now and will probably only get it on him for another r couple of weeks. It didn't help him to settle on his back either. So not helped unfortunately

hasn't helped with sleep
Bought 6-9 month for my 4 month old baby and it isn't overly big. Cosy, and baby seems to like wearing it, but it doesn't make him sleep any better! He still wakes during his 'light' sleep.

This suit is GREAT and my baby started sleeping through the night from ...
This suit is GREAT and my baby started sleeping through the night from 12 weeks of age.Whenever I put my baby in a regular grow bag her sleep would be disturbed and her naps were always 35/40mins.. a sleep cycle. Whereas when she wore her merlin suit, she would nap for 1.5h and sleep through the night. Happy sleeper = happy baby! BUT be warned.... this suit is another sleep crutch or sleep association that I would advise all parents not to let their babies get too attached too.It took 2 weeks and more, going cold turkey to wean my baby out of this suit which meant 2 weeks of very disturbed sleep at age 7months. after previously always being a very good napper and night time sleeper. The suits only go upto size 9months (not allowed to wear it once they can roll) so I knew that one day the time would come and she would grow out the suit and we would have a problem on our hands, if we hadn't weaned her out of it.Secondly, you can't use this suit in the summer months or overseas as it's just too thick and cosy.My advice... steer clear of this suit. Yes it works and you're baby will sleep so well in it... but you and your baby will get hooked on it. It's best to learn good sleeping habits from an early age without the aid of any type of sleep tools. Ie sleepy heads, merlin suits etc.Or of youre going to use it... keep using a grow bag or blanket regularly too, to prevent them becoming dependent on their cosy Merlin suit.

The truly magic sleepsuit!
Arrived very quickly, so well made, i'm very pleased with it. I've put my baby (6 months old) down for a nap in the sleep suit for the first time. She always twitches and jerks herself awake at the 45 minute mark as she transitions from deep sleep to light sleep, and ends up waking up. I've been watching her on the camera and in this sleepsuit, she tried to twitch at 45 minutes but the suit restricted her movements slightly and she went straight back into a deep sleep. She's now been napping over an hour which is almost unheard of. I can't wait to put her to bed in it tonight and see what awaits...fingers crossed it will be a much better nights sleep! Although my baby is 6 months I bought the 3-6 month one as she only weighs 14lbs and this goes up to 18lbs, so I hope it will last her a while. Its thick and will be great for winter. I will be getting another one for when this is in the wash!!! Please note, this suit will not stop your baby waking up if they are hungry, lonely or need a nappy change. Don't expect TOTAL miracles! It will however, help if you have a twisty baby who wakes themselves up with movements in their sleep.

Good product to aid in transition out of swaddle
Great product and my 5 month daughter transitioning out of her swaddle and into this suite brilliantly. However, more guidance on what she should wear underneath depending on room temperature would have been useful. Continually checking if she is too hot or cold.

Fantastic!
Brilliant product. We have been struggling to get our baby out of her swaddle, as she still startles easily but is getting annoyed with being swaddled/wants to suck her fingers to soothe herself. I was sceptical that this sleep suit would work, but it has been amazing. She has started sleeping for 8 hours straight, instead of me getting up every hour to re-insert her dummy. Only downside is that in hot weather it would be a bit too hot I suspect.

Keeps baby warm
Good quality. Easy to put on and take off. My baby loves it & it keeps her warm through the night. Helps her sleep through the night- avg 10 hours a night.

Worth the Hype
Put this on my 6 week old after struggling with getting my newborn to sleep despite trying traditional swaddles, velcro swaddles and the nested bean swaddle. While I could get my son to sleep he still managed to wake himself up due to his startle reflux.Magic Merlin worked wonders, little bubs slept a solid 5-6 hours before waking up for a feed at 4am and settling back in for another 3 to 4 hr stretch. First night was a hit and was the only time I got a solid 8 hr stretch Lool.Don’t get me wrong I’ve had some nights around 11 weeks, and 13 weeks where he’s woken up 3x a night in spite of the suit but I would chalk it up to developmental milestones + sleep regressions but as of right now he’s gone back to his normal routine at 15 weeks. FYI also my kid hates getting into the suit would recommend going up to the next size up. For reference my little one was 12lb 3 oz at 6 week.I’ll be transitioning to a sleep sack most likely in the coming month and won’t likely need to go up a size.Hope this helps any sleep deprived momma out there. Worth the money!!

Works great
Worked a charm as a swaddle transition for our little one. Only had to use for a week and could then stop swaddling. Very happy!

Buy it!!!!!
This is the best product ever if you need help transitioning from a swaddle to sleep sack. My 6 month baby sleeps in a crib for 12 hours a night and I don’t have to worry about him rolling onto his belly. I couldn’t recommend this product more!!!
