Flymen Fishing Surface Seducer Double Barrel Popper & Slider Bodies

I love to fly fish for big bluegill and bass. These poppers are perfect for the DIY fly tying fisherman. They are a soft type of foam, but firm enough to hold up to paint and epoxy. The built-in eye pockets make eye placement perfectly easy and foolproof. To insert the hook I first use a sharp bobbin or pin to pierce the body and ensure straight alignment of the hook shaft. I then insert the eyelet of the hook through the back of the body and out through the mouth. Coloring the body can be done with a sharpie pen or paint. The white body is best for painting or coloring. Also, I recommend the smallest size which is good for both bass and bluegill. Tight lines!

Great little popper heads!

I first got the “ Medium “ , but I found that those were too large for Poppers to cast with a light fly rod such as a #4 Weight. The “ Medium “ is more suitable for larger Poppers for a heavier Rod.Then I got the “ Small “ size, and they were more suitable for flies to be cast with a lighter rod for small Bass and Panfish.No more trouble than usual to work the popper head on to a hook with some super glue.Float and Pop well.Just remember that they are ~ 1 $ each , so not so cheap, but probably more durable than poppers made with DIY Foam.

I liked them until a 90 degree day and a clear fly box ruined them. They ended up shrunken, hard, and misshapen. Changed fly box but won’t buy again.

I am tying flies for Pike and these should do the trick for large fish.

What is not to like about these poppers? They have awesome action, are easy to work with, and are always first quality. Flymen products are well thought out and designed.
