A quality starter set if you're just getting into pickleball
I'm a tennis player, not a pickleballer, but my wife wanted to try it and see what all the hype is about. Not wanting to spend tennis racquet prices, I found this set and ordered it to try. I'm not qualified to judge a paddle's quality, but they seemed like a robust set, and not overly loud. The grips were my favorite part: just right in the hand.As an all-in-one set, all you need is a court or even a driveway in a pinch. You'd probably want to pick up an extra bag of the balls, but they can be found anywhere now.I gave this set 5 stars based on it's bang for the buck, and for those easing into the sport it will help you decide whether you like it or not without too much up-front expense.

Average Quality Paddles at Average Price
I have made it my mission to review all sorts of pickleball paddles. I'll rate this one in comparison to what I've used. For comparison, a painted piece of plywood with no handle scores 6/10 for stability and power and 1/10 everywhere else. Firstly, there is probably carbon fiber in the paddle, but the surface is some kind of vinyl sticker, so that's minus one star for shady advertising.Ratings for this paddleHandle and ergonomics: 7/10I have male hands on the slightly high side of average. This is a budget-upgrade paddle so it’s probably not fair to compare to paddles that are 10x the cost, but Selkirk (my gold standard paddle for this category) sells an XL paddle with a 5.75” long handle with a 4.25” circumference and that feels ideal to me. This paddle grip is about 5 inches long according to my measurement (that's a bit above normal for a pickleball paddle), the grip tape is very comfortable, moisture wicking, shock absorbing, and has about a 4.3” grip circumference (my measurement isn’t exact). I like a slightly smaller grip like this because it gives me a little more wrist action for spin, (though this paddle doesn’t really spin much as you’ll read later). It’s a decent grip, but that kind of tape wears out of after dozens of games, so be ready to replace it. I just use hockey tape or a python grip because it’s cheap and works fine.Stability and power 4/10I tend to play control over power, but both are important. For reference, a Joola Pursuit MX is probably the gold standard 10/10 for power without sacrificing too many other attributes (and not a fair comparison since it’s more than 10x the price of this paddle). This paddle is better than a wood plank and about the same as most other paddles in this price range because the light plastic spreads out the impact shock a bit more. This does make it feel a little less responsive for power, but you get more control in the compromise. This paddle is the thinnest of all the paddles I have in this price range, which seems to have minimal impact on the power and offers slightly less control than a thicker paddle.Spin and control 4/10The “textured” surface is really just a vinyl sticker on top, and it’s about as grippy as a cheap ping-pong table (which is to say, not much). It's not raw carbon fiber. So you get quite a bit more control than a wood paddle, but spin-grip is about the same (which is to say, there isn’t any). That’s normal for paddles in this price range, but you are playing a different game without spin-grip.Durability 6/10?I haven't had my paddles long enough to accurately assess this, but the paddle seems well-constructed. The sticker on the face looks like it might come off after a lot of use. The grip tape is really comfortable, but it seems like it will wear out pretty fast.As a starter family kit, this is reasonably good value, and I like the swap for more control over more power for new players. The bag is great to help tote the paddles and balls. There are other, less costly options with similar quality, but this is about average for the current market.

pickle ball paddles and carry bag
State of the art pickle ball paddles, carry bag, and pickle balls. Paddles are very lite, reactive and produce great spin. Over all great paddles!

A good set of paddles
This is a great set of pickleboard paddles! We've played several times and they're holding up great. I'm a new pickleball player, so I wouldn't necessarily be able to tell the difference between different paddles. So far the only issue we've had is a small chip in the face of one paddle the first time we used them. Otherwise, they've done well.

Decent for starting off or as a spare
If you need a two set with balls and a bag to start off playing pickleball I would recommend this product. While it is a bit more expensive than the two set you can buy at Walmart or Target it is way lighter and has better grips for longer play sessions. The paddle isn't anything special so it's a great way to start playing pickle ball or even practice with them until you get to the point where you would like to play at a higher level. Overall I would recommend as a starter pack or even as spare paddles.
