Chasin's Surrender: Gemini Group, Book 5

Riley Edwards has become one of my favorite authors. The words she writes, the feelings she puts into her books and the feelings they evoke while reading, the amazing characters with quick wit, steely determination, charming personalities, personal demons to overcome, complicated relationships, and relatable upbringings. We also get to experience the military aspect getting to know the team, their brotherhood – their tightly woven unit not born of blood but founded and grown from blood, sweat, tears, and missions, along with their sense of honor, duty, and integrity and their grit and protective nature, and finally their love and passion. They definitely fight hard and love harder. Edwards pulls all these aspects and more into her stories and brings them to life to give us characters we can relate to and care about and a completely engrossing storyline you can see unfolding before your eyes.Chasin’s Surrender is absolutely no different. It is fabulous from beginning to end and in my opinion the most heartfelt and romantic out of the bunch. There are so many sweet, touching moments with Chasin and Evie as well as heart-stopping conversations and phrases – “I see you”, and moments of complete connection and overwhelming emotions you cannot ignore, as well as the powerful words and emotions in Evie’s songs. Just utterly fantastic!Chasin and Evie both come from troubled pasts with awful parents and upbringings that have left deep scars concerning love, commitment, and relationships. The damage has caused Evie to retreat deep into herself and put up walls and creating two different personas, one she showcases in her professional life as the sassy, vibrant, take charge country music star Vivi Rush and the other, her true self, which reserves for only those closest to her. Sadly for her, no one really sees her true self except her best friend Bobbie before Chasin comes along to completely rip down her protective walls. Everyone only sees what they want from her and what she can do for them.Due to Chasin’s damaged past, he is resolute in attitude and vision on the opposite sex and relationships. No lies, no cheating. Period! After a passionate weekend with Evie, he falls hard – he’s halfway to love already and thinks he found his perfect match. But an overheard conversation where he jumps to conclusions and slings harsh accusations has him walking out and leaves her shattered. How come something that started so innocently and beautiful turn so horribly wrong? Both trying to move on they are more than shocked when Evie turns out to be Gemini’s next client and Chasin’s assignment. When he learns how badly he messed up he is all on board, determined to do whatever it takes to break through her walls and recreate what they had while searching for her stalker. As they work to repair their relationship Evie’s stalker makes a scary bold move that can have deadly consequences for them if they cannot find him in time.I loved everything about this story – the emotional pulls, suspense, danger, excitement, funny moments, drama, and romance (with a side of extra steamy!). There are also several laugh out loud moments and just as many tears. All the Gemini team jumps in to help out, including their women and the interaction between them all is great. You can definitely feel the family connections shared between them all. I also really loved Bobby and I hope that she will find her own happiness in a future installment with one of these great guys.*I received an arc from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review. This was an emotional roller coaster. This is a great story about love and family. I couldn't put it down. This group of characters draw you in. I can't wait to start the next one.

Beautiful story of love and life and triumph. Chasin has scars from his childhood. So does Genevieve. Yet, they both see each other. And they connect. But the danger to Genevieve is real. And this edge of the seat romantic suspense takes your through all their ups and downs. And what a ride it is.

Kept me guessing the whole book. Loved how the relationship developed and the mystery behind the story. Will keep reading!!

Another fabulous, suspenseful read in a favorite series! I live this family! Yes, they are a family. 💚Chasin & Genevieve have some rough waters to get through, and I l9ve that Chasin makes an effort to not only apologize for the hurt he causes, but SHOW his Evie his apology and love. He puts in the work. And Genevieve puts in her own kind of work, showing Chasin he is loved and appreciated.Great family, friendship, suspense, and love! Plus, these two are intense and have quite a bit of 🔥🔥🔥!Loved it, and my heart aches even more for Holden. Looking forward to his HEA! I also l9ved getting to know Evie's BFF, Bobby!😍😍😍

This is a book that is about putting the scars of the past behind you. Both Chasin and Genevieve had childhoods that scarred them deeply. When they meet, they fall in love before they really know each other and because of that, Chasin mistakes a phone call as something it’s not. He destroys the budding relationship without asking for clarification first. When Genevieve re-enters his life as a client of the Gemini Group a week later, he realizes his mistake and knows he’ll have to work to fix what he’s broken.Genevieve’s scars run deeper than Chasin’s, she doesn’t let people in and doesn’t give second chances. But when she finds out why Chasin reacted the way he did, she realizes sometimes forgiveness can be worth the risk.Chasin is determined to earn Genevieve’s trust and eliminate her stalker. Their chemistry is undeniable and their connection is unbreakable. Genevieve’s whole life is changing and with Chasin at her side she realizes what’s been missing.I loved this book. It was a little bit of love at first sight with a good dose of groveling and suspense on top of that. The men of Gemini Group are something special and I love that all their partners become secondary characters as the series progresses. Holden’s plight has been featured in every book in this series so I’m glad we finally get his story next!

I love Evie! Aside from the singer part (I can't sing), she's very relatable. She's sweet, kind, funny and strong! Chasin did an amazing job at getting his head out of his bum quickly. Always love Riley Edwards.

Confirming yet again why Riley Edwards is one of my favourite romance authors, Chasin’s Surrender nails everything I want in a story!Falling in love over a weekend, Genevieve and Chasin both thought they’d found the one but it all ends in heartache when Chasin royally screws up jumping to conclusions when reacting to the conditioning of his childhood.Country music mega star Genevieve lands up in the Gemini office seeking help when her stalker escalates. Chasin knows he made a mistake, he wants to win her back but Genevieve is in no mood to give him a second chance. Can he convince her that they are perfect for each other and keep her safe?Lots of raw emotion in this compelling story, loved Chasin and Evie, two strong characters both fighting for their dreams despite experiencing life at it’s worst, their interaction is awesome. There are plenty of sparks, the kickass bff everyone should have, angst, intrigue and a fair few suspects, humour and laughter, searing heat and of course the whole Gemini gang!I loved this book and indeed the whole series so far, this latest instalment will keep you gripped until the end, can’t wait for Holden’s story and really, really hope Bobby gets a story too!I received an ARC of this book and all views expressed are my own.
