Top quality
Order arrived well packaged and in perfect condition. Great looking Pickleball paddles made of carbon fiber with comfortable grip. Paddles came with protective, well tailored carry bags with zippers. Can't wait to try these paddles out!I am a new player so I asked a friend who plays with a name brand $250 paddle to give me her opinion. She said this paddle is every bit as good and she actually like the thicker frame on this paddle better.

SOLID FIVE STARS for the paddles, notch ANOTHER STAR for the SUPERB company!!!
FIRST, let me point out a NEED TO CLARIFY differences between DEFT AND VERSATIL offered by this seller--I will state at the end of this review!...I would return again, and again to purchase high-end (if not elite-level) paddles from Sport Beats / Star Tailgating!THESE ARE THE REAL DEAL. ANYWHERE under or near $50/paddle in this level is borderline impossible to find!ELONGATEDFOAM INJECTEDRAW CARBON FIBERUNIBODY THRU HANDLE16mm core (most-widely desired for 'ideal catch' with favorable compromise between power and control)USAPA TOURNAMENT APPROVED (I didn't verify, but have no reason to doubt)....The only thing I didn't see in listing as a claim, is "thermoformed", but I cannot yet tell the difference.....The paddles are AWESOME in balance and during play. Grab your buddy's $100-150+ similarly designed paddle and let them play with this for just ONE GAME...then ask 'em which one they'd rather pull out of their bag to compete with next time. ANY hesitancy tells you, you've struck one of the best deals around...because me saying so in a review isn't always enough! So, that's a summation briefly, of this ridiculous value--in a great way--paddle set. But get this:I reached out to the seller for an issue in delivery that left a slight imperfection. Not only were they very quick to respond, but did so with kindness, empathy, and a more-than-satisfactory remedy. I will be a repeat customer, as I've experienced both raw CFS options they offer in "DEFT" and "VERSATIL".The VERSATIL has a SLIGHTLY longer handle and offers a more-squarish face. It is NOT a widebody (neither of these are--they ARE BOTH elongated paddle forms) but this more-squared face offers a bit more overall length/reach, a bit more grip space, and slightly more surface area for ball contact. The aptly-named DEFT feels a bit more compact with a still-elongated handle...it's lower face begins at nearly the same distance from handle-end, but tip of head terminates at slightly less of a reach than its counterpart. Its head is more-commonly known as the "aero curve" shape. In all honesty, I personally find a hard time telling them apart during intense gameplay, unless I look down to confirm which I'm using. Each have pros and cons, but I wanted to clarify (hopefully) some previous incorrect information that stated the opposite.EITHER PADDLE IS A FANTASTIC VALUE compared to the array of other high-end paddles I've tested, and used to rely on as primary weapons!THANKS AGAIN, Sport Beats!!

Excellent T700 Carbon - Good Control/Spin - Good Value
These are a great value as well as great paddles, and I'll explain why. I like T700 thermoformed paddles in general, and I'm used to seeing them at almost twice this price, or thrice this price. Buying them in your local sports superstore might cost you 4, 5, even 6 times this price. Same layers, same core, same grip, similar grip tape, similar injected edge guards. After playing with these I just can't ignore how amazing it is to get such wonderful control (and spin) paddles of such good quality for such a value!Sweet spot is big because the PP core is thick and soft, and the T700 paddle faces are ductile - plus they have a natural rough surface that grips the ball very well - both of which aid in imparting spin and providing great control on top of having that big forgiving sweet spot. Shots are consistent. This is a paddle for the long-term because it's well built. The injected edge guard glue helps form a bit of an outer frame (in function, not technically in form) for the paddle and that's part of what forms the larger sweet spot, but also gives some structural rigidity for a paddle with a soft PP core - the result is a really, really playable paddle.I'd even hand one of these to a beginner. Why not? It's not much extra cost over the lower price tier paddles, and there's nothing difficult about using these - they're very forgiving of off-center hits. The long grip shouldn't throw off beginners, and I think giving a beginner a longer reach isn't a bad way to start out either. So I'd recommend these paddles for anybody.I did get both the DEFT and the VERSATIL models - and I see now that they're in the same listing so this will be the only review I can leave, and it needs to count for both types. The biggest difference is a wider paddle (Versatil) versus a longer paddle (Deft), with the former being more for control or balanced play, and the latter being for reach, thus probably meant for power and speed. But they're both fairly thick at 16mm and seem to have equally soft cores, so I think both lean toward control over speed, but both can impart enough speed and power to satisfy all but the most extreme pickleball competitors.Again, I highly RECOMMEND both models - probably these Versatil for beginners/intermediates/social players and the Deft model for those who want a bit more reach and power. Great paddles!

Little heavy?
Let's get the minor negative things out of the way first. I thought this paddle was slightly heavier than other paddles I have. Heavier paddle can be a good thing for some players with strong stroke. The handle was slightly shorter than other paddles as well. I like longer handle. These are just very minor things.Okay, on to the good things. All black paddle is intimidating. The stroke is strong and precise. Control is good and spinning the ball is also good. It has paddle covers. Very playable strong paddle. Thumbs up.

A Great Deal For Carbon Fiber Paddles!
This is an awesome set of carbon faced pickleball paddles. And they come with zippered covers.I had previously ordered a different set of paddles that claimed to be carbon fiber, but were not. These are definitely carbon fiber! They are well balanced and have a consistent hit across the face of the paddle. Due to the grip of the surface, I can put a pretty good spin on the ball. They seem to be of very quality construction. I had my higher level playing friend try mine out against his other more expensive paddles and he was very impressed.I highly recommend these paddles for their performance, especially considering the price!
