Fantastic prosumer or even pro level PTZ camera.
The media could not be loaded. This 4k PTZ PoE camera punches well above its price point. It wasn’t too long ago when a camera like this would have cost 3-4 times as much as this one. When I first started to get into PoE cameras something like this would only be a dream because something with this capability were too cost prohibitive. Now they are quite affordable for what you actually get.First of all the video quality is great this should be no surprise since it is a 4K camera. Night vision is very good. The IR alights are the brightest I’ve seen on any camera I owned.I’ve had PoE cameras before but never had the ability to zoom. This really adds to the usefulness of the device. This has a 20X zoom and is capable of views detail from a very long distance. The onvif compatibility makes it easy to add the camera to my DVR software running on my home server. I use Agent DVR and I’m able to use the Pan tilt and zoom features just fine.Another feature I really like is the detection alerts and auto tracking of this camera. Yes this camera will identify a human and following them around while they are in view. The camera will even zoom in on the person. The camera can detect people and vehicles. This can be set to trigger an alert which I use to trigger recording in my software. This stops blowing trees or leaves causing footage to be captured for no reason. It is possible to have these alerts to trigger push notifications on your phone. Which can be set to a schedule. For example, if my camera detects a person in my backyard after 11pm I would like the camera to record and push a notification to my phone.Overall great bang for your buck and I would definitely recommend to a friend.

Limited firmware
REVIEW UPDATE 10/10/2020:I must say that Vikylin's customer support is very decent and prompt to respond, considering the hour differential from China. They sent me another custom firmware update, unique to Vikylin cameras, which does install, but it is the same old version that came with the camera. Their firmware follows the same naming convention sequence as Hikvision's so it is obvious this is an older version, which means this camera won't be updated until Vikylin updates their own custom firmware from Hikvision's latest, which may take a while for all I know.So in short, the camera does work as intended, their customer support is prompt and ready to help, and their customer service policies are very much in line with what you would expect from a good U.S. based company. They issued me a full refund without requiring the product returned, for which I am grateful. I am changing my rating to 4 stars, deducting one star only because the firmware is limited to only accept Vikylin's own, which does not seem to stay current with Hikvision's schedule.---------------------------------REVIEW UPDATE 10/7/2020:After spending several days in back-and-forth email communication with Vikylin support, we found out that the firmware in these cameras cannot be updated, not even with the firmware provided by Vikylin. They sent me 4 different versions via email links, since their website does not provide them directly for these cameras. None of them worked. They all failed to update without explanation. The update just aborted, no matter what we tried, following the same exact procedure I followed with other Hikvision OEM cameras from other vendors, all of which update without problems. Vikylin offered to give me a partial refund, for which I have waited 7 days past when they said they would do it. I'm tired of waiting and I just don't want to keep a crippled camera that cannot be updated. Changing rating from 3 to one star. Returning camera back to Vikylin.-----------------------ORIGINAL REVIEW:The camera is pretty decent when it comes to image quality and features. After all, it is a Hikvision. But the seller restricted the firmware to only allow updates from the seller. Unlike all the other OEM cameras I have tested, these prevent you from updating from Hikvision's website. I find this rather inconvenient and almost a deal breaker. If it wasn't for the good price, I would have returned the camera due to the crippled firmware. As far as the night vision and image quality, I find little difference between these and the regular 4k turrets.4mm lens is nice to have. The additional smart detection features (unattended baggage detection, object removal detection, face detection, scene change detection) are only usable if you don't use H.265+ compression, which for me is a more important feature, so I don't use those smart features.

Great quality during the day, not so much at night
I bought and installed two of these cameras in the spring of 2019. Both of them are still going strong. PTZ functionality has worked flawlessly even during extreme heat and cold. The image quality during the day is superb and the interface used to configure them is relatively easy to use. The small form factor is a plus and most people don't even notice them. The area where this cameras doesn't shine is low-light, color performance. Even after carefully tuning image and video settings, you'd be hard pressed to actually identify someone unless this camera was mounted where there is very bright lighting or the person was just a few feet from the camera. If Hikvision would release this camera with a 1/1.8" low-light sensor, this camera would be the ideal mix of PTZ functionality, great image quality and low-light, night performance. Right now, it only gets half the job done.I've attached two captures of the resident fox. The darker one was taken from Hik footage, the brighter one was taken from footage recorded by a camera that uses a 1/1.8" Starlight sensor. The two cameras are about 5' apart. If you're looking for great day time image quality, PTZ capabilities and don't care if your night footage is black and white, this is a great camera. If you need color at night, this camera probably won't get the job done. Hopefully, the folks at Hikvision will release an updated version of this sweet, little camera that has improved low-light capabilities.

Impressive resolution
The cameras give an impressive resolution. Even when you zoom in you get a fairly clear image. The only dowfall is the knight vision. it's much harder to decern details. Maybee this could be resolved by adding a infrared spotlight to inhance knight vision.I still give it 5 stars because it's a verry sterdy camera. The casing is solid metal and it was a sinch to connect it to my NVR.

this is NOT a Hikvision camera
great 8MP camera that is compatible to Hikvision. It is branded with a different company and has a generic software interface. The 8MP resolution is amazing. You can only see the full resolution on the NVR or by downloading the files. the phone app does compress any picture no matter if 4MP or 8MP camera to a more mobile data-friendly size. The image quality suffers under this compression.
