Hailo8040-407 XXL safety ladder, 4 steps, multifunction tray, 130 mm deep steps, made in Germany

My previous step ladder was falling apart after 20 years. This time decided to spend a little more to get a higher quality ladder for decorating and occasional tasks around the house. Have used it already to paint a large room and found the Hailo excellent - stable, with wide steps and a useful tray to hold onto and keep tools in. Also folds away easily. Would unreservedly recommend.

Hailo 8040-407 XXL safety ladder is a particular model that have much wider step which is very comfortable to stand on and it also has much better lock when open its secure and no need to have all other straps that are get on the way once open like others. well worth the extra cost.

Heavier than many other similar ladders but that results from its generally sturdy construction. However, being substantively of aluminium it can be moved and handled with reasonable ease. Not cheaply priced but reasonable value for money.There is a defective feature in as much as the plasic tray also provides the stability which secures the upper ends of the stiles (longitudinal side members) together. If accidental damage caused the plastic tray to crack or otherwise fracture it could easily result in the ladder being unsafe to use and therefore discarded.

Excellent ladder. I bought this as the two step ladder from the same manufacturer I've had for several years was too short for a job I had to do. This was perfect. Lightweight, sturdy and narrower footprint than some so it can get into small spaces.

Found it both very sturdy/light in use and well worth the cost. Can't wait to give it another try.

Hemos tenido varias escaleras para casa de dos peldaños y la mayoría han sido un desastre que ha terminado doblándose por el peso, y que hacía dificil acceder a todos los rincones que quedaban un poco altos. Nos decidimos por esta a raiz de las críticas y estamos encantados. Es de aluminio, pesa poquísimo. Tiene tres escalones y el superior por lo que llegas sin problema a cualquier rincón y al techo. Tiene un cierre superior que hace clic al estar en posición y es muy segura. No se mueve ni balancea una vez abierta. Los escalones son grandes y da bastante seguridad. La parte superior para dejar accesorios me parecía una tonteria cuando la compramos, hasta que me tocó colgar una lámpara de techo y pude dejar las herramientas, tornilleria, etc encima, entonces si me di cuenta de la utilidad tan enorme que tiene. No es barata pero posiblemente sea la última escalera que compres para casa ya que parece muy robusta y que va a durar muchísimos años. Nosotros recomendamos mucho su compra.

Robust, sicher, leicht, gut verarbeitet und funktionell mit der Ablagefläche - was will man mehr? Mir war der Sicherheitsaspekt sehr wichtig und das die Leiter leicht ist, so dass man sie gerne benutzt und nicht tausend Ausreden hervor kramt, warum die Gardinen mal wieder nicht gewaschen werden können oder die oberen Ablagefächer im Schrank weiterhin mit allerlei Gedöns voll sind. Das Produkt ist nicht billig, aber dafür hat man mindestens die nächsten 10 Jahre Ruhe. Weitere Pluspunkt kein umständlicher Transport von einem Bau- oder Supermarkt im Auto - kommt eben mit dem Paketdienst vor die Haustür. Klare Empfehlung aus meiner Sicht.

アマゾンで購入。受け取って半月以上たつのにまだ「配送中」なので、注文履歴ページからレビューが書けない。でも買ってよかったので早く書きたかった次第です。高いところがまったく苦手。しかし高所担当と頼みにしていた家族がいなくなり、すべて自分でやらなければならなくなった。脚立は屋内用だけで4脚あるが、天井に手が届くほどの高さでしかも安心して作業できるものを、と探した。ハイロをみつけたのは生協。値段が高いのに購入者の満足度が高かったのだ。で、購入したこの商品はまず軽い。スチールパイプのステップ式３段のものより全然軽い。高さがあるので横抱きにした際には建具などにぶつけないよう気をつけなければならないが、女性でも一人で持って屋内を移動できる。高さは天板部分で82センチ位。160センチの身長だと天井高255センチの直付けの照明器具も余裕で作業可能。畳んだ時の大きさ、最上段に立った時の恐怖感を想像して３段と迷ったが４段だと家じゅうの高所作業ができる。そして高所が不得手でも、最上段に立って作業できる。アルミ梯子式４段の脚立では上での作業が怖かったが、これは最上段から上に手すりがあること、途中のステップが棒状でなく板状、つまり幅があること（とくに降りるときに安心感ある）で恐怖心が薄らぐ。安定と軽量という相反する部分を満たすような製品デザインということだろう。当初はＴＶでみたバケツもおける物置台付というのにも惹かれたが、ハイロではなかったし、絞った雑巾何本かあれば事足りる。もしもバケツがひっくり返ったりした時のこと考えれば、なくてもよいと結論した。 価格は高い。12,000円位だったらいいと思い、決める前は迷い、ほかに自分の要求にかなうものはないかと探した。しかし、重くて運ぶのが大変だと結局は億劫になりお蔵入りになる。１０年単位で使えることを期待し、また怪我などの危険を小さくすることを願い、使いやすい方がよいと考えた。軽さと安定感（アルミ製なのに耐荷重150Kg)で出番多し！これまでの脚立は追々処分するつもりだ。ＤＩＹ大好きなおじいさんが元気な時にこの脚立を知りプレゼントすればよかった・・・きっと喜んでくれただろうな。ただ、商品にハイロの商標紙みたいなのを止めるテープが暑さのせいか、はがしてもベタベタ。ほどよい接着力のテープを使うなどの配慮は日本の製品が上ですね。
