Woke up
This book really helped me to navigate how get back when you realised you sufferd from trauma, doctor Gabor reasarch and work on human nature , mental trauma and what it's is , how to know, how to process is really an eye opening for all of us , even it helps to understand people their behaviours and have better empathy for them specially for ourselves when we find sometimes what is wrong with us.I like to thank doctor Gabor, not everyone has access to this knowledge without knowing it's very difficult for people to struggle to find path to heal even not knowing what is worng with us ,it's helps to understand self and society as wells it's very helpful for someone who is a parent. To Die well is to live well.Thank you so much Doctor Gabor, words are not enough for you.

Tough read but one of the best books I have read!
This is a tough read but at the same very compassionately written . The last few chapters of the book hold wisdom and a must read for most women and young adults. I have shared these chapter with my own children so that they can grow up empowered with authenticity, agency, the right anger , and acceptance & the five compassions.

Holistic health view
Dr Maté, through learnings from his own challenging life experiences, shines an insightful light on some of our destructive behavioural patterns, on an individual as well as societal level, that helps us recognize and address them in healthy ways. Resonant and highly recommended.

Insightful - but too long
Author has done a good job of putting into context a very difficult to understand topic. Book contains number of deep insights. However it’s a very long read and sometimes you lose the overall narrative. Good to read once
