The Concise Oxford Dictionary of English Etymology (Oxford Quick Reference)

Very engaging read. It's good that the book is fairly light so you can bring it with you everywhere and look things up promptly. I think everyone should have some basic knowledge of etymology so as to not be fooled by advertisements or stupid slogans.

You have sent me two copies but it will be useful in the English Language part of my degree course.

Being mad on the English language this is perfect. I love using it.
