The rod and reel combo is ideal for beach fishing. Just got back from HHI. Fished every day. 1st day caught a small stingray at midnight. Other catches included a whitefish, whiting, catfish, and 2 spinner sharks that were at least 2.5' long. What a fight they were but the gear made it effortless. Very good setup.I actually bought two. Can't wait to try them at pay lakes for some monster catfish.

I bought this product three months ago and on the first try the line guide wasn't working right. Tried to fix it myself since then but it didn't work. Good quality though.Update - After contacting customer service, they fixed my problem really fast. Excellent customer service, I loved it!

This fishing pole is pretty decent. However, it keeps breaking at the spinner handle on the reel in the same place. We received a 2nd one replaced by Amazon returns and the same thing happened about a week in use. We only caught 1-4lb bass in our ponds so far. Customer service is excellent and looking into this while sending us out a 3rd pole.

I bought this rod needing an additional rod for bass fishing and one I can use for trout as well. Not knowing what to expect since I've never heard of the brand before, I figured I couldn't go wrong with such a great price point. I got this rod/reel and was absolutely pleasantly surprised by how much I liked it. I usually fish with St. Croix premier or ugly stik elite and I honestly changed to using this one as my main rod. It is light, it casts a mile, it is plenty sensitive enough to feel the hits, and overall really great quality. Unfortunately I got it snagged while stream trout fishing and snapped the tip BUT here's where it gets better. I reached out to the company itself (not through amazon) explained what happened and just asked about the warranty on these poles to see if I was lucky enough to still be under. Ed (the owner of the company) personally reached back out to me, asked no questions, apologized and immediately sent me a new pole. I opened the box and he had sent me the entire combo even though he knows I didnt break the reel. NEVER in my life have I dealt with such wonderful costumer service and I will back this company and this pole any day.

Got this for my son to learn how to use a bait caster . Work really good for that it's almost impossible to bird nest when adjusted rite.

For the price this combo isn’t worth it. The reel isn’t terrible but it just feels cheap compared to name brands. I would just get a 6-7 ft ugly stik to get that reliability and higher action than this rod. I’d go with an ugly stick elite or even a ugly stik catfish if you’re going for heavier fish. After that I’d put on a cheaper name brand reel like a Lews classic pro or an Abu Garcia black max or even a Kast king Spartacus. I’ve used both the Lews and Abu Garcia that I listed and they just feel solid and better. So for the same price you could get name brand reliability and a higher quality set up.Update: This thing failed me big time. The line guides on the rod break super easily. The reel has a tick to it when you cast and either has way too much tension and brakes or not enough. Doesn’t cast well. PLEASE don’t waste your money just do a little research. For around the same price I would go with a Lews classic pro speed spool($60) and an ugly stik GX2($40). The GX2 is a little smaller but has nice fast action. If you want a bigger rod go with an ugly stik elite($50). If you really want this rod go for it but these are the same price and have far better performance and reliability.

Took this out fishing today for the first time. Very satisfied. Smooth reel. Easy to cast. Running 12 lb stren mono and had no issues with backlashes or any other problems.Highly recommend for beginners or weekend anglers looking to get bang for your buck.

Really strong and flexible. The line doesn’t get tied at all.

Bough as a present for my husband birthday and he just loves it. Spent all summer for fishing.Good for beginners

I was skeptical about this purchase based on not a well known brand/price. i will confirm i am satisfied. reel is balanced and smooth. rod is light and sensitive. casts well. seems tough. used 8lb flouro test bought from same company. caught 4 walleye and 2 pike on it yesterday. the one pike bent this thing in half and it still recovered nicely. drag one the reel was responsive and smooth enough that the pike didnt break 8lb line with no leader. wish they had more colors so i could buy one form my wife..
