3.5 stars for this fun follow-up to Him and Us
I'm very late to the party with these books, but I enjoyed the first two so thought I'd give the follow-up a go. It's not quite as enjoyable as Him and Us - very little of the stuff the story is grounded in is new, after all - but is still very solid. Two of the best things about it are the credible dialogue and dynamics between the characterrs and the refreshingly up-front and equally believable sex scenes. It says something though that while this novel focusses on Jess and Blake, it's still Wes and Jamie's wedding that is the most memorable thing about it.

Featuring Wesmie - yay!
I was missing my favourite book boys from my 2021 reading!!Happily, 'Wesmie' feature in this new series by the same authors. Enough to satisfy my craving, yet not so much they take over this story. This one's about Jess; Jamie's sister. It starts with her planning the Wesmie wedding. It also features Wesmie's boisterous friend, Blake Riley. But he starts to be less smiley. Aww!Now, Jess is a little bit self-absorbed. And Blake is a bit pushy. So, this doesn't get the 5* rating the other books did.HOWEVER, it's a really lovely story.Blake is a better man than anyone gave him credit for.Jess has a worthy destiny. They balance each other beautifully. Plus, the sizzling chemistry - cheezus! Not many authors have the power to really draw me into their world, and make me feel like I'm there as a side-character. But I totally feel like I'm part of this one (despite not being a sports fan!).4.5*

Hockey and dogs and more laighter than you can be prepared for.
Good Boy is the first book in these lovely ladies' new hockey series WAGs (Wives And Girlfriends)..This new series by this amazing author pair is picking up where we left off in US, the second book in the prequel MM duology about Wes and Jamie, or Wesmie which is the bestest ship name ever. The WAGs series is about the Toronto hockey team and the lovelife of the friends and teammates of Wes.This first book is all about our favourite goofball and Wes's best friend, Blake Riley who we got to know in US first and Jess Canning, Jamie's big sister who was also there in US.They thought they're never going to see each other again after that one mistake of a day but being made of honour and best man at a wedding complicates things.Jess is slowly going crazy because her life is about to turn around.. again... and her family already thinks she can't decide for herself what to do. And now Blake's antics are a constant in her life which doesn't make things easier.Blake is determined to prove he's not the immature bachelor everyone thinks he is. And he's set his eyes on the beutiful blond who seems hell bent on rejecting him.Blake and his crazy hides a vulnerable soul and Jess despite her own insecurities might just be the person who can repair what once was broken. What's better than hockey players in a romance book? Hoceky players with dogs! Blake and Jess's story was funny with some blanaced angst and of course... hockey! If I pick up a book from these ladies the fun is absolutely guaranteed. I loved every moment and of course there was enough Wesmie to make everything more perfect.Absolutely loveable characters, a fulfilling, fun story about bringing out the best in someone and hockey and dogs and more laughter than you can be prepared for.If you loved Elle Kennedy's Off-Campus and Briar U series and the author pair's HIM duology then this series is a must! The perfect amount of fluff and angst to entertain you!

4 "Best In Show" stars
Cheezus that was good! First things first, I eat my words. I was one of the few who were not instantly enamoured with Blake in his appearance in US, and because of this I had some reservations going into Good Boy. Let’s just say, by the end of the first chapter I was eating out of his hand, and would have happily rolled over and have him rub my tummy.Blake is a professional Hockey player who plays alongside Jess’ future brother-in-law. They have a history Jess would rather forget, but unfortunately for her, Blake is like a dog with a bone and is refusing to acknowledge her less than enthusiastic response to his presence. He’s more than happy to bide his time until Jess finally sees sense, and in the meantime he loves to spend his time in her company. It’s said company which is Jess’ bone of contention. The more time she spends with him, he harder it is to fight her insane attraction to him. They embark in a few more “mistakes” until the lady doth protest too much and she’s resigned to acknowledging a new found appreciation for man’s best friend.Like Jess, I was absolutely bowled over by Blake. How could I have ever of not loved him? He has such a huge heart and is emotionally far more intelligent than I ever gave him credit for. His boundless support of Jess and infectious personality make him a pedigree catch. I’d be more than happy for him to make me beg, or teach me a trick or two.Good Boy wins “Best In Show” for its unadulterated fun factor. I’ll never tire of the Bowen/Kennedy duo, and am more than salivating for their return with (Eriksson’s story), Stay.
