Easier to use than spray lubricant
Long ago, I learned that lubricating a drill bit will extend its life. I don't worry about it with wood or plastic. But, metal is hard on a drill bit. So, I've always used a spray lubricant, which is a little messy. This is a wax-like stick and is easy to apply without a lot of mess. I didn't even know such a product existed, although it makes a lot of sense.

Set it next to the drill press
To be honest I don’t use my drill press often, so it’s nice to have a little lube near by thst I don’t have to go digging for when I do use it. Works ok

A soft waxy drill lubricant
This is a stick of a soft waxy material designed to serve as a drill lubricant. It claims to reduce binding and instructions says to apply it directly to the drill bit whenever it begins to bind. I would be afraid to use in on woods which I intend to apply a finish coating to in the future where it might interfere with adhesion of my paint or other finish. And since it offers little cooling effect to a drill bit used on metal (unlike my liquid drill lubricant which I can continuously apply while drilling through metal), I can't see a great benefit for it there either. So I will keep this stick in my drill bit drawer searching for a good situation to use it, but I haven't come across it yet.

Hopeful it will extend life of drill bits
This product was purchased in hopes it would extend the life of expensive drill bits used by my husband to drill into ceramic and porcelain tiles. So far it does seems to aid in the drilling process but it will take time and use to determine if it truly serves the intended purpose long term.

Works great on wood
I've been using these for drilling into dimensional lumber for framing. I don't feel the bits drill faster into the wood but have noticed that the bit lasts longer because becoming too hot to touch. I've also noticed that my bits are lasting longer. I'm not sure if this would interact with any stains or paints on wood. I've not tried using this for wood that would be finished.
