Kupilka Mug, plate and spoon gift set

I love outdoor gear and I have tried just about all the camping cookware I know of. I thought about buying some of this many times and was Eventually given some as a gift. I received One full cutlery set a cup and a plate in the brown colour way all brand new and sealed. The plate is so small it just about fits a single slice sandwich folded over. The teaspoon snapped on day two. All items carry a slight scent which smells a bit like Burnt wood crossed with beef stock. Mainly this is noticeable when hot food or liquid is put on them and makes tea or coffee really disgusting. The cup insulates well from heat and the desert spoon Is big Enough for a grown-up to eat with which is rare for outdoor spoons. The knife is actually quite sharp so not great for little kids. The material (a sort of MDF) Appears to be a bit weaker than wood and less durable or impact resistant than plastic but it is quite heat resistant. Possibly due to the weakness of the material the cup and plate are quite thick which makes them on the heavy side given the small size when compared with polycarbonate Gear as made by wildo, MSR and trangia. Add to this the jaw dropping price tag ( Item for item double what most people spend on fine bone china) and this is a well deserved thumbs down from me.
