Works right out of the box after installing your own coin battery
It does NOT come with a battery. But, once we installed a coin battery, it instantly works.

Cheaply made and for what it does is pretty expensive. But it works for operating the fan

Better than nothing
It works, but it's not nearly as good as the original. There's a pronounced lag (2-3 seconds) between when you press the button and the light turns on or off.This is even worse if you have a dimmer - It's not simply a momentary signal, so it will adjust the intensity of your light whether you like it or not (leading to the situation where you are trying to read and wondering if your eyesight is going because the light has gradually changed to a dim mood lighting setting over time). If you need one quickly, go for it, but getting the original from Hunter is cheaper and better.
