Stayed on Three Years, Great Fun
We purchased the whale three years ago, and it finally fell off (permanently) today. We are definitely ordering more. It made things fun and comfortable for my little one with her violin practice time. The seller had great instructions in case the whale pad fell off, which included wiping the sticky spot with a damp cloth and pressing on again. We were able to just leave the whale on the instrument for a year at a time, using the damp cloth to restick each time. Worked like a charm and a lot less hassle than attaching a Kuhn each practice time.

it is attached to the violin with a re-usable sticky pad, it looks that the pad will not sticky very long, let's wait and see, I will update the post.

A frustrating and regratable purchase!!
Bought 34 of these shoulder rests in various shapes for my Elementary school program, thinking it would be fun. The sponges I used required elastic bands and the kids are always struggling with the actual sponge. Thought this would be the ideal solution, as it has the sticky part that attaches right to the instrument.WHAT a DISASTER this purchase has been. The round sticky bits come apart from the shoulder rest; it's lost it's stickiness probably after the second week of use. They're forever falling off and rolling all over class. Mostly they are too thin to provide proper instrument support. Honestly, I wish I could send each and every one of the 34 I bought back!! We are so frustrated!

Whaley Big Mistake
My daughter absolutely hated this item. She has been playing violin and we needed something to come in quickly and this was our only option for next day. It was a "whaley" big mistake.
