Battery for ST22 58/000/271 58/000/246 MC/266/767 PQ/94/WIF with Tools (3.8V,1500mAh,5.7Wh)

No problem removing old battery. Installed new battery, still battery error. Charged for several hours. Held power button for 40 seconds to reboot. No go. Still have battery error. I don’t think I can get new battery out with out bending. $35.00 learning experience. 😔

Amazon doesn't really want you to do this or they would provide better methods. I found a video that shows just how hard it is to open the Kindle Paperwhite (10th Gen.) and I was glad I viewed it. The tools don't hold up well--fortunately there were two of them. The "guitar pick" tools were helpful for keeping a side open while working on the other sides. You need a lot of hand strength to get the back off, and at the same time you need to be careful. Removing the old battery required a hairdryer to heat the adhesive to where it would let go more easily. I was successful in replacing the battery, but it was a 45 minute struggle. Still, the new battery works fine, so I guess I did OK.

The video makes it look easy but I couldn’t get the back off the kindle.

Despite being the right shape, having the right connectors, and the right words printed on the back, two of these batteries failed the same way in my two 2018 kindles: the device booted up, but would turn itself off every few seconds, and refused to accept a charge. I then bought different batteries that worked, so my devices were definitely not the problem. I returned these batteries for a refund, and that part at least went smoothly.

As others have said Watch a Video.Getting the back off and the battery out is tedious but fairly simple.Takes about 15 minutes.I waited 60 hours to see how it was doing before posting.Before the swap my 2018 Kindle Paperwhite was good for about 24 hours, w/ use, before the low warning came on. Turned off it was good for about 36 hours.W/ this battery and heavy use It's now been 60 hours and it's at 58%.I'm sold!!
