A quality dye for natural and synthetic leather. Suitable for shoes, bags and textiles. Dyes on any colour, even white on black. Color Dye has the ability to cover small leather defects resulting from abrasions and scratches on footwear and leather accessories. Dyes and restores the color permanently. Repels water. Does not crack or chip. Dyed leather is ready to use after 24 hours. APPLICATION METHOD: Stir the bottom of the bottle of dye with the paintbrush until getting a homogenous colour. First apply paint with the brush on hard-to-access areas such as the joint between the sole and the leather, seams, and scratches. Next apply some dye on the sponge using brush. Rub gently sponge in a circular motion on the shoe surface to be dyed. Apply more dye on the sponge if necessary. Continue this process until the sponge will be almost dry. Once the first coat is dry apply a second coat by repeating the steps so that the colour evens up. Apply a third coat, if necessary. Once finished, wash the sponge and the paintbrush with water. 25 ml - 0.85 fl. oz. is enough to cover 0.5m2 of surface with 2-3 layers. Does not work with nubuck and suede. Recommended: Before dyeing leather use the Preparer or clean it some cleaning liquid

great product and saves you money in the long run
I bought this as wanted to rejuvenate my favourite pair of boots. I was a bit sceptical at 1st as never done anything like this before. I read through the instructions thoroughly and dived head 1st into painting the 1st one. I was a bit worried that there wouldn't be enough dye to cover 2 big boots but my fears were unfounded. The 1st coat went on relatively easily and dried fairly quickly. I left it overnight before tackling the other one to make sure there were no issues. The following day I checked the boot and must admit, that they look brand new. The finish is shinier than the original boot, but I half expected that. I immediately started on the 2nd one and now have a matching pair of new boots. Overall I am very pleased with the result, and after the initial 48 curing time, I will try them out to see if the colour stays on and doesn't scuff off. So far I am extremely pleased, and will consider using these products again. Great for covering up old and tired shoes, plus it saves you loads of money.

Warning - not a dye, it’s a paint product
So ... this is a difficult one to review as this was completely wrong product for what I wanted to achieve. My plan was to revive my Mulberry Handbag which was looking a bit worse for wear. I ordered this in cream believing it was a dye but no, this is a paint product. Needless to say, there was a lot of panicking and google searches on how to remove it as my beautifully supple leather bag now looked like some dodgy pleather bag from the 70s! With a lot of acetone and elbow grease I managed to remove it, albeit 6 hours later. The purpose of this review is to warn anyone else who is thinking of doing this on an expensive or treasured item that it is not a leather dye but a leather paint. I felt bad giving a low score as it’s not the suppliers fault, I’m sure the product is perfectly fine for other intended uses so have stayed neutral.

Useless paint washes off when rubbed or in water
DO NOT BUY. If you really wanna use this "paint", try it on an item you don't really care about us. Thankfully I tried it on a leather item from a charity shop. The paint rubs off very easily even after letting dry for 48 hours (photo 1). I repainted and let dry and repainted and let dry and it just didn't stick. After reading the rest of the bad reviews I decided to try washing it with water and using a sponge, it came off so easily (photo 2). Just glad it came off and didn't ruin the item. Gonna try Angelus paint instead. Don't waste your money on this - you can get Angelus for cheaper on eBay.

My bag looks better now than it did new!
I can't beleive my bag looks better than when it was brand new! I had a lot of water stains, scuffs and other unidentified marks on this bag, it was a warm tan colour before as you can see from the inside logo tab. Shame I forgot to take a before photo as this is a dramatic improvement. As you can imagine I'm delighted with the results, a quick wire wool buff to the metal elements and it was done. Super easy to use this dye, only needed one coat, and it doesn't stain your hands, washed right off. INCREDIBLE PRODUCT!!!

Great Silver coat and easy to use
I bought the Silver colour paint. I honestly was not sure if the colour was going to be useful as the paint looked very liquid. As you can see in the first picture, my shoes were a bit deteriorated, and the Silver colour had come out on the edges and front of the shoes.I put a coat of the silver paint all over the issue, in case it was a different silver from the original, following the instructions. I was surprised that the colour is very much the same as the Silver of the shoes and it covered correctly the marks that I had. Now my shoes look brand new. It also dried very quickly, but it is Summer so that might have influenced.

Works well, my shoes now look brand new but its not easy to match the colour accurately.
My partner was pressing me to throw away my most comfortable shoes because they were badly scuffed, particularly the heels from driving. I decided to try the dye. I needed a light brown/tan colour. I bought Russet at first. This was too red so I bought dark brown which was too dark. So I mixed the two bottles together and tried that. The scuffs had been really bad where in places all the original colour on the shoes had been scraped down to the bare leather. The mixed dye was such a close match so I tried that. To my surprise it covered the Russett and dark brown experimental patches and covered the scuffs perfectly. The dye seems to dry a bit darker than when first applied. The brushes clean easily in water so I assume the dye is water based. It would be helpful if the colour charts were laid out with similar colours close together. Also the size of the colour patches on the web site is a bit small for accurate colour matching. My shoes now look brand new. Overall I am very pleased.

Scratched, discoloured shoes made like new.
These were a grey/taupe leather but wrecked with huge colour loss on the toes, metal marks and scratches in the leather from walks in the rain, woodlands and thorn tears. Otherwise they were decent leather shoes and worth a renovation. After a good clean to remove old waxes, 4 coats of the paint dye and plenty of drying in between and a few days after the final coat they look like new. It isn't a hard process, but it takes patience. It is well worth doing for quality items that are otherwise structurally sound. Highly recommended to save decent shoes from waste.

Very tiny bottle
I had to order another bottle as coverage was inadequate; disappointed as I had to order two which made it quite expensive for 2 tiny bottlesSecond bottle caused sparkle to clog item I dyed, having difficulty removing. Not happy, and noticed after it left item stiff, rinsing it to smooth removed a lot of the dye! Not worth the money for what I needed it for. Sorry
