Seduced by Cake

I enjoyed this short story involving baking and blackmail. The twist on Little Red Riding Hood was also a clever addition, as well as the recipes which sound absolutely delicious. I can't wait to try them out myself.

Seduced by Cake is book 1 in the series. Seduced by Cake story is about a baker, Scarlet, and her devious plan with her Granny to extort money for a deposit on a house for her and her boyfriend Matt. The story continues in book 2. The second half of the book has recipes, including ones that made an appearance in the story like the banana bread, cupcakes, chocolate cake. Most of these recipes have vegetables in the ingredients. How about eggplants, black beans, sweet potatoes, yams, and cauliflower? Yes, they’re in the recipes. So creative!

This book is very unique! Not only the recipes, but the format.. The first half of the book is a short story that you can read either on it's own or while you are waiting on one of the recipes to come out of the oven. All of the recipes are healthy and made with vegetables. The story includes a little bit about recipes too. I enjoyed the story and can't wait to try some of the recipes!

Good storyline which would have been interesting to see developed into a full-size book.Will take a deeper look at the recipes when I’m next in the kitchen. They looked interesting based on vegetables as sweet potato, avocado, and cauliflower.Such a pity that the story is left on a cliffhanger.

The book overview for this book is a little misleading as you only get the first part of a short story in it. The story continues in consecutive books. Although the story wasn’t really for me, it was well written. The recipes look intriguing and I can’t wait to try some of them out. 4½ stars
