Water Distiller Copper Lid Pot Still with Thumper Keg Thump (Copper 5 Gallon)

Works perfect for distilling essential oils. How ever you don't really need the thumper.

The whole setup is a little weak, but given the price point I can't really complain. A few tools and a few tweaks will have it working just fine. I've made about a dozen batches and they've all come out okay.Everything about it shows cut corners (including the poorly cut corners) but again for what you're paying I wouldn't expect a prefect system. Watch your fingers on the edge of the lid as it's full of copper burrs. The worm works okay as long as you keep it cool by running water through it continuously (I use a pump hooked into the bottom aperture and my drain on the top). You're gonna get some leaks but nothing horrible. Use a small wrench to gently tighten each fitting once it's set up and it'll be okay. The thermometer works fine in mine and the pressure valve on top helps me feel more comfortable about running it indoors.All in all it's a good place to start of your not sure this is something you want to do.

As a beginner who wasn't sure what I was doing, this is a great setup. After learning from some other hobbyists, stainless steel is the way to go. Make sure to properly clean the inside of the copper tubing (well, make sure to clean everything well but concentrate on the tubing). Yes you're going to need some other equipment but once you're set up, you've got a system that will do exactly what you want to do, with all sorts of different types and flavors you're looking to distill. Great and almost comprehensive setup.

The fittings are very poorly made. The whole system is not pressure tight the way it came and will require some modifications.

Thank god I was using a hot plate, otherwise I’d be dead and my house burnt down. In 15 years of brewing and distilling have never come across such a safety issue.Seals only last thru vinegar and sacrificial run. After that leaks like a sieve. If I was using a burner I’d either be dead or in the ICU for 3rd degree burns.Stay away at all cost. Amazon should ban this company.

This distiller is quite nice. It is heavier than I thought it would be. Everything seems to be made well and it came with all the parts. The lid locks on nice and tightly and the clips seem to be made well and are heavy duty. I'm hoping to do some essential oil distilling and I think this is a perfect set up for that. It comes with an instruction book which seems to be pretty good although not always worded well. There are recipes in the booklet, but they are all for alcohol distilling which is not what I was looking for. I could get to most of the video links that were listed, but they all seemed to be a very quick video (less than a minute) showing how to set up. I was hoping there would be a video that went a little more in depth about how to use it, but good how to videos will not be hard to find on the web, so it's not that big of a deal. I'm happy with it and look forward to having a new hobby!

This is perfect and I have just used it once. It was very easy to setup and I just ran sanitizer through it for a test run. Worked without a hitch and I am just curious as to the final product. It is very sturdy, leak proof and easy to clean. You must follow the directions though if you plan on using it for spirits distilling. Definitely a must have for an brewer and excellent conversation starter.

This little set of pots makes distilling water quick and easy. We have Hard Water in our area. We tested the drinking water only to find out that it contains many minerals that our kids and us shouldn't be drinking. I filter the water, but filtering only gets so much out.By distilling the water we should get 97~98% better cleaned drinking water.Everything in this set seem well designed and of good material.Overall, I am happy with the product and hope to use it for as long as I can.
