This is a nice DIY kit for those wanting to learn about soldering and electric magnetic transmitter. Please read directions they are clear but come with some warnings as this is high voltage yet simple to use.

If you or someone you know loves to learn about electronics, this is a great kit. It's inexpensive and you end up with a novel toy when you're done.This is a great beginner's kit because all components are through-hole, so they're easy to solder. The transistors are slightly more challenging for the novice but even a complete beginner should be able to build this, provided you have learned to solder properly.

The media could not be loaded.  I got this just to brush up on my soldering, and I'm glad I did. It is a fun little set that actually comes with legible instructions. Whether you are familiar with schematics or just starting out with soldering you can do this project.I posted a slow motion video, to show the slug being accelerated, but in reality it moves fast enough to knock lightweight items over, but not puncture them. In the video, you will see that the 100% red LED is not lit, and I think that is because I got a bad one, I did let the capacitor charge for about a minute before the video, so I am sure that it was fully charged. Overall, I am happy with this set, and now I have a neat toy to sit on my desk!
