Perfect stool for my achy knees!
After suffering a meniscus tear in my knee a few years ago while trying to get up from a 9" high plastic stool, I looked around the house for a temporary seat to use while cleaning out the 4 litter boxes we have. Yes, as the photos show, I ended up with a cat litter tub that I quickly discovered HAD to have some cushioning, but even with various rugs, towels, etc., it was often as unstable as it was uncomfortable. After checking out several hardware & household goods stores, I stuck with this contraption for too long...Back to Amazon, where I found this sturdy, affordable, & easy to use folding stool. When it arrived, I tried it out right away, & found out it's a perfect height for my 5"2" body with arthritic knees. It folds up & back out easily, plus it takes up much less space than that dang litter tub. Yes, if I need to sit on it for more than 10-15 minutes, I need a pad for my tush, but it's exactly what I need.

Easy assembly, easy to use.
This was so easy to assemble, of you can really call it that... Just take off the packaging, unfold the step ladder and line up the hinges. Insert the locking pins into the holes until you hear a click and done. Folding it is as easy as grabbing the handle and lifting the step stool up. I grab either side (long sides) and hold those and it opens up fast enough, or I can just actually unfold it as you unfold things. It folds up nicely, it's sturdy (I got on it with heels like they did in the listing picture. The area where you step have a bunch of little rubber grip things on it to prevent me from slipping off accidentally. It's tall (the one I got) so you may or may not need a little help getting on it if your legs aren't good, but I got on it just fine, both while barefoot and with heels. It didn't feel the best barefoot because it's the grips, but it was just fine with my shoes and slippers, though I'd be careful about the type of slippers you use to get into a step stool. They're called slippers for a reason, they slip on and off your feet easily. But I digress. This is a good step stool. It works, feels sturdy and is light, portable, folds up to be thin and easy to pack away and is easy to unfold and to fold up. I'm happy with it and it takes my weight just fine. A+

Kitchen Companion!
Got this for my partner, she is a short one and can't reach some stuff. She recently got one but was disappointed to see that the first stool wasn't tall enough to change her situation. This one is fairly tall, at 16 inches it's enough for her to reach the top mounted cabinets without issue. I've used it myself, I'm 210 pounds and I felt the stool to be sturdy and very grippy, the rubber "dots" on the stepping surface give a very reassuring feeling when stepped on. when folded the top part has a handle but this thing is light, you can grab and carry from anywhere. Def would recommend!

not sturdy
i don't trust this step stool to be sturdy enough for adult use. i ordered this to be able to reach the high shelves in my kitchen, but when i expand it for use, it does not feel secure. i have tried standing on this but i didn't trust it to be able to handle weight without buckling. i definitely would not trust it to hold 400 lbs as advertised. maybe it's good for kids because the foldable feature is nice, but it's not going to work for me.

Way sturdier than it looks
This stool is extremely lightweight and does fold down to easily hide away. When I initially looked at it, I really didn't think it would hold so I checked with my husband to make sure my Will was up to date before stepping on it.When you first step on it, you can kind of feel it settle under your weight (doesn't bow, just more like it's locking in better) which makes it feel a little sketchy at first but after that initial step, it's solid and sturdy under your feet. I've been able to use this for changing lightbulbs and hanging curtains. Having this step stool option is way better than lugging a heavy ladder around the house.

a great little stool that is not for old folks
I have absolutely nothing negative to say about this stool: it's very sturdy and folds down and up very easily, taking up virtually no storage space.Let me state up front that I am one of those "old folks" ( a very fit age 76); the reason I would not recommend this for anyone my age or older is simply that at 16 inches tall, taking that big of a step up without anything to hold onto for stability is fraught with peril. It took me just one step up onto it to realize just how insecure I felt with my own sense of balance. This had nothing to do with the stool itself-- solely my own balance issues and an increasing awareness of the importance of not falling. This will find a happy home with one of my younger friends, who will undoubtedly be delighted with it.

A versatile and stable folding stool
This stool deploys and collapses really easily. There was a slight bit of assembly to pin the two halves of the top together, which was no big deal.At 17.5" it's about the tallest stepstool I feel comfortable jumping up on, but it's really stable to stand on. It's also a great height to sit on, so it's multipurpose. When not using it, grab the center handle and pick up and it folds pretty flat to tuck away out of the way.
