Installed on outside of trailer to connect the house battery that will be in a battery box on an exterior rack. The hole to install the receptacle on the outside IS NOT BIG ENOUGH TO FIT THE FUSE HOLDER THROUGH!! I had to cut out the fuse holder, install the plug and rewire the fuse holder in place. It needs to be removable or have an easy disconnect/reconnect for installation.

I love the simplicity of this and how easy it installs but most of all how much it increases the looks and convenience of a charging or power recep on the truck and UTV.

I honestly expected somewhere around a 14AWG since sometimes advertisements or descriptions can stretch the truth at times, besides - 10AWG going to a SAE plug seems almost irresponsible if the plug can't handle the load of a 10AWG wire! But we are all hopefully working with 12VDC so worries of a dangerous scenario are reduced.This wire is indeed 10AWG and will most likely handle anything you throw at it (within reason). Since it is 10AWG, be mindful that this will not conform easily if you're routing it in tight places or sharp corners. But if you need a beefy, solid SAE plug and wire - then this is it for sure.I currently have this wired directly to the battery on my 1240E Massey Ferguson tractor for the trickle charger and a way to plug in the external fuel transfer pump.

These plug into each other nicely. The wire crimps and solders nicely. I am not sure how they will hols up in freezing temps as they were very stiff when I was I installing them (low 40s)

The extension cord worked great under a 20 amp load. I took some thermal pictures under a load and everything appeared good. Even though the fuse showed 154 degrees, it was only warm to the touch, so I'm guessing the internal metal fuse was much hotter than the outer case of the fuse. The fuse holder is extremely tight and hard to remove. I also think you need to make sure you have your fuse seated properly in the socket.

This is a heavy-gauge (10AWG) 66-inch SAE power cord, with a female socket on one end, and a male plug on the other. The socket is contained in a round surface-mount plate, with a very securely-fitting water- and dust-proof cap. The plug end is likewise terminated with a tight-fitting protective cap. At about mid-cable is an inline automotive blade fuse holder. The kit comes with a selection of 6 ATO fuses (two 15A fuses, and one each of 10A, 20A, 25A, and 30A). The kit also includes screws for mounting the socket plate. I'm actually cutting the cable in half, and using the female socket side to create an exterior 12VDC port on the side wall of a camping trailer (to power outdoor Bluetooth speakers). The male side will then plug into the socket.However you choose to use it, this is a well-made heavy-duty heat-resistant water- and dust-proof power cord. I am very please with my order, and recommend this product.
