Bright but Hot LED Light Bulb
This LED light bulb makes a big difference in my garage and hallway, with tremendous illumination improvement. However, it seems not safe for outdoor use and holds a lot of heat.

LOVE THESE BULBS. AWESOME LIGHT DESIGN

Decent light for garage
The XYCN corn LED light bulb is bright and great for my garage as I have a light socket hanging down from the ceiling. It lights up my garage well and the heat/cold climate does not affect it like it does the previous florescent bulbs.

Bright enough for parking lot lamps
I will buy more of these bulbs when they are on sale.

It's okay, but not nearly as bright as advertised.
***FULL DISCLOSURE: Item was received for free through the Amazon Vine program in exchange for an unbiased review.***This "480W equivalent" LED bulb is okay and usable, but it certainly isn't a cream-of-the-crop product.First, the design is very harsh and industrial with no sheathing or diffuser; the live circuit board and frame are completely exposed, meaning that even if the conformal coating is the only thing keeping you from getting shocked, it's still super easy for this to burn/melt any plastic or flesh that comes in contact after more than a few minutes.Second, the light is nowhere near as bright as advertised. Sure, it's very bright for a consumer bulb, but it's definitely nowhere near the stated 6800Lm. Maybe 2000, 2500 at most? The relative lack of density of LEDs compared to similar offerings is likely a contributing factor. Finally, I highly doubt this bulb will last very long. It's running hot and the LEDs are overdriven. Short version, the ridiculous 55 thousand(!) hour rating probably closer to 200-300 hours here in reality. So yeah, as with most high-lumen LED bulbs on Amazon, it's okay, but the specs are wildly over-inflated, and its only an okay value for money. Unfortunately, that's par for the course for this product category.

Bright Carriage Light replacement but possible electric shock or short danger
The lights function well in a carriage light fixture that tends to be very sensitive to LED's and limit bulbs to 60 watts. They are fairly bright but 480 watt equivalent is a bit of a stretch. The first three pictures show the light compared to a 60 watt incandescent bulb. The LED is brighter but not by a factor of eight. The possible danger that these bulbs present is caused by their design. The LED's and basic structure are not covered by glass or plastic. The picture shows the top of the LED. Note that two bare wires provide what appears to be a connection from power to the LED structure. Both metal connectors can be touched and therefore present the possible danger for shock or an electrical short and fire hazard. Moreover, each LED panel connects to the top where there are similar bare wire connections that can be touched, although you would have to really try to touch these connections. Overall, this may be a dangerous product.

Smaller than typical corn bulbs
These LED corn bulbs are on the smaller side, and have a standard E26 base that will fit many fixtures. I like the high lumen output for only 54 watts of advertised power usage. These corn bulbs get slightly warm and use passive cooling instead of noisy fans. They do not have the clear protective covering that most corn bulbs provide, so there is more opportunity for damaging the LEDs. Overall, they are not as bright as I was expecting, but they still work well in locations that prefer a daylight color temperature.
