Looks like everything I'll need after catching a fish.
But I need to catch the fish first! I went fishing at the lake but those darn fish wouldn't bite! It looks like a quality set of tools. The very sharp filet knife was bigger than I was expecting, but that's ok. I'll just have to catch bigger fish! I think the tools are worth the cost of the tools, and a good value for the money.

That's not a knife, THIS is a knife!
This is a cool little tool kit. I love the pliers and the hanger tool, but the knife leaves me wanting more. It looks more like a futuristic space knife, and comes sharp, but not hair splitting. I worked to sharpen the edge a bit and it cuts paper like butter. I imagine it'd be hard to use on crappie or perch due to its size, but if you're fileting salmon or swordfish, it might be right up your alley!

Very Nice Fishing Tool Kit At a Great Price
The kit is well packaged and arrived quickly. The fillet knife is very sharp and comes with a locking mechanism on the sheath. I think that’s a great idea and pretty much makes it impossible for a curious youngster to open. The sheath also a built in sharpener making it very convenient. Really like the fish gripper and easy to use. I’m sure it will save on wear and tear on my thumb. The kit also includes nice size pliers with case that can clip on to your belt or belt and a small pair of scissors. Looks like a very well thought out outfit and looking forward to using.

Best versatile fishing tool set in the market
It's not my first time trying RUNCL products but this one is definitely one of the best products that they have come up with. The quality of the pliers and the knife is definitely above par compared to other products I've used. It is worth the money, and will definitely last me a life time. Absolutely love this product, it is a must try if you are into fishing as it has all the essentials for your trip.

OK - a little bulky; knife is too much
I got this to supplement my existing fishing gear and set up a second tackle box as we're acquiring a boat soon, and I should mention that I do freshwater fishing on smaller inland lakes, mainly for pan fish, bass, walleye and pike. The small scissors are great - large enough to do what you need, cut fishing line, etc., and small enough to fit nicely in a pocket of my tackle backpack. The retaining strap is decent but not real long, so you have to be closer than 12" to wherever it is attached to use that particular tool. That may just be donated somewhere. The lip grabber is pretty nice - sturdy with a good grip and they operate well. I will be sure to oil them down so that they don't rust and freeze up. I don't anticipate needing those too often, but will be handy when I do need them for the toothy fish (pike). The pliers are a bit daunting. A new(ish) fisherperson it is likely not going to know what to do with all the bells and whistles, and the handles are quite robust (more than they need to be). In fact, I couldn't include these pliers in my fishing backpack because the handles and the spring mechanism wouldn't fit the built-in plier sheath and retaining strap. I'm hoping I can find a permanent home for these pliers on my fishing boat when I get it instead of residing in my tackle bag. Finally, the knife - that thing is just ridiculously big and I really don't like it. Yes, it has a very sturdy handle, but the knife is just so large that it doesn't come close to fitting in my tackle box or bag, and takes up a large amount of room in the drawer at home. I would MUCH prefer a smaller, more compact knife with a bit less ostentatious handle. The blade could be smaller or not, but take the handle and the sheath down quite a few notches.Overall, not sure how much I recommend this set. Perhaps if you are fishing from a larger boat (think charter fishing) on a Great Lake or saltwater fishing for much larger fish it would be good, just doesn't suit my purposes.

This kit works great for me.
I bought this set to keep in my kayak and cat fishing. The scissors are in this set are great for cutting mono and flouro but 80lb braid really put them to the test. The finger holes are plenty large enough for a full-grown person unlike most I have. The pliers are great with bait tuner, slip ring tip, line cutter, grooved crimp sleeve, hook clamps, and a sturdy spring and lock. The grips are EVA no slip grip and large handles make them easy to handle for my hands. The knife is something out of a futuristic movie with its serrated blade and gut hook on the flat side and smooth filet blade on the other. The handle is extremely large as many has said made with the same EVA no slip grip. The gripper I don't particularly need but it seems to work well. Both the pliers and the knife come with a decent sheath. the knife sheath has a great locking feature that works great meaning it will be there when you grab the knife. My own thoughts are that the oversized handles are great. My older hands grip them easily. My main use for the knife is cutting weeds off my trolling motor, cutting old lines in the water, and mostly cutting bait. I find the serrated side will saw through bone and meat easily. The gut hook should be on the other end though. I think the filet side of the blade might be hindered some by the size of the handle.

nice, well made set
This set feels well made and sturdy. The scissors feel a little cheap and may break after a few uses, and the "lost string" -whatever that's suppose to be- is useless. The knife is nice and sharp and 9 inches. The sheath has a built in locking mechanism and a knife sharpener. The pliers have so many uses. This set will be put to good use this weekend. Will update as needed, but upon first impressions: not great for a beginner kit-there's no instructions to tell a beginner what is what or how to use it. But for someone who knows what they are doing, this could be a nice back up or replacement kit for their tackle box.
