Excellent choice for runners
After watching and worrying for the number of ladies in the Virgin London Marathon who were risking themselves a black eye, I resolved to stop pretending that it was ok to run in a normal sports bra & buy myself the strongest running bra I could find. After some research, and based on suggestions that this bra should be sized up in the band and down in the cup, I bought this in a 30D for my 28DD bust.First impressions: nice silky fabric & strong sturdy construction. The bra does up in two places - the rear back band and between the shoulder blades. The band is quite tight for a 30" back but I think this is a good thing as it will naturally loosen over time with use. The shoulder blade clasp takes a little bit of co-ordination to fasten, but that does mean that you can slip the bra off normally as opposed to wrenching it over your head which is a plus. After leaping up and down like a lunatic in front of a mirror, I could see that the ladies weren't going anywhere, and so the next day I took it out for a test run. Big thumbs up from me! I've run in it four times now and it's great: really secure and doesn't rub. It has washed well in a delicates bag in the washing machine. Highly recommend it to anyone wanting a high impact sports bra.

Sizing is completely off, hard to get on and then uncomfortable
The sizing is completely off, i think SA need to recall these bras as they dont appear to have used any QA. I normally wear a 30F bra, my ribcage (under bust measurement) measures 29inches. As you can see from the picture the 30F Shock Absorber ultimate run bra only measures 21 inch band size and 26 inch at full stretch ie i couldnt do it up. I exchanged it for a 32F which came very quickly. The band is 24 inch and stretches to fit but only just, however the cup was too big. It is also a pain to get on, and once on i didnt feel comfortable in it as it was digging in around the arm pits. I wouldnt recommend this style at all, i will stick with the SA high impact bra which is comfortable and comes in the size you would expect

Really Comfy and Supportive
When I buy anything from amazon, I always read the reviews first to see what people think of the item. Several people commented on this sports bra and said that it is ideal to go for a larger chest size and a smaller cup size, to get the best support. I am normally a size 34C, so I bought a 36B in black. It arrived very quickly which was great and when I tried it on it was comfy! There are a few places where you can adjust the size/tightness of the straps etc. Personally I found that even on the tightest of all settings, when I jumped around I felt a bit bouncy!! So in the end I exchanged the one I bought for a size 34A which fit perfectly for me (even though I still have to wear it on all the tightest straps). So overall, I think this is a really great product and it is worth buying, just make sure that you get the right size for you, because everyone is different!!

Go up a band size and down a cup size!
I'm read the reviews about how small the band on this bra fit. But, my typical size of 30E was £10 cheaper than the other sizes. So, I thought that SURELY it can't be THAT small. Anyways - I like a more snuggly fit bra and sometimes even wear a 28F! Boy - was I wrong!Like others have said - the band is ridiculously undersized for the size stated. I actually COULD get the bra hooked on the last hook - but it took a heck of a lot of muscle and if I were to attempt a run, I'd probably collapse because breathing wouldn't be an option. It was so tiny that I exchanged for 2 band sizes up, 2 cup sizes down - so a 30E to a 34D. It's a massive improvement! I can very easily hook this one on the smallest hook, so I likely should have gone with a 32DD, instead. But, it feels secure enough and it's not as if I have a massive chest to support. All in all, now that I've found a more appropriate size - I'm happy with my purchase. It seems like a quality item and although I haven't taken it for a run so to speak, I think it will keep everything where it needs to be. Just don't be a fool like me and ignore all the reviews that say this thing runs SMALL!

Band runs very small
I'm wearing 30G and this size always fits me quit well, no matter what brand I'm using (Curvy Kate, Freya, Panache, M&S, others). There are some small differences among sizing of different brands, so sometimes 30G runs a bit small or a bit big, but it's always wearable.I've ordered 30G of this Shock Absorber and I then... I was really shocked to see what I've received :) So basically, the band is so small that I can't even fasten this bra. I'm not even close to fastening it. It looks more like a 26 band size (or less), not 30. Of course I'm returning it, which is a shame. If only the band would be true to size - I would be very happy with the buy, as the quality is looking really good.

Practical if awkward
I must first say that I have a love/hate relationship with Shock Absorber bras generally. I hate them because I don't find their "compression fit" very comfortable. I have decent sized boobs & they just squash everything into your body which I don't like. However I have to admit they work in terms of stopping boobs bouncing around so to that extent I am growing to love them & I now own this bra in 3 different colourways.I really didn't like the first of these bras when it arrived. As well as the usual "squash factor" it's 2nd fastening is a plastic clip affair like you would find on a swim suit located so high between the shoulder blades its almost impossible to fasten. ( and you can't front fasten and swivel) However I decided to try it out and I must say it does work well which encouraged me to order again in this blue & yellow & later in pink & purple. As always with shock absorber the fit on back size is small so think about going up a size on that- cup size is fine though, it's supposed to fit tight, that is how it works.Regarding comfort I am in 2 minds- it's tight, you will notice when you put it on & it won't feel comfortable. But once you are wearing it and while running you just won't notice it. In short it is comfortable to run in which is pretty much the pointSo I have grown to love these bras, slowly!Hope that helps x
