Worked so well I almost cried!
Let me start by saying, I have NEVER written an Amazon review before, but this product works so well I couldn't not write one.My dog is so petrified of getting his nails clipped that we have been asked to not return to multiple groomers because he goes into fight or flight mode and poops on them. The vet has prescribed medication, STRONG doses of meds and nothing has worked. They told me my only option was to fully sedate him to get his nails clipped. I saw this product and thought it was brilliant but it took me a while to pull the trigger because of the price and I wasn't sure if it would work. WHAT A MISTAKE! I should have bought this months ago.First of all, the product comes with detailed instructions on how to train your dog to use it, which I was not expecting. It's very easy to put together, and the fact that it comes with a non-slip mat is a game changer. Within 5 minutes my dogs front nails were filed all the way down to the quick. He hadn't had his nails cut in over a year, and within 5 minutes it was all done and he had a fun time playing a game and getting treats.DO NOT let the price of this deter you. It is worth every penny. The best $160 I've ever spent, is what I told my family and friends that knew how hard of a time I was having with this. It's also great that this isn't just sandpaper that will wear down over time, this is a product that will last a long time! Every other product that I've seen like this, didn't have a treat door. Without that door there was no way my dog would have actually scratched and filed his nails. Hands down the best product I've bought on Amazon in a long time!

Amazing, Fun Nail File for Dogs
This is one of the best dog-related products ever. If you are thinking about purchasing it, DO IT.Ever since my favorite nail clippers broke and I was unable to replace it with the same model (no longer sold!!), my dog pack has thrown a nail-clipping fit. My puppy has sensitive feet and my 8 & 9 year old dogs have been getting more sensitive with age. My whole pack had overgrown nails as I attempted to desensitize them to new clippers, dremels, you name it. It hasn't been going well. This week I saw this DiggerDog Nail File online, and went ahead and purchased it (because of all the positive reviews!).I put the Digger on the floor and scattered treats in/around it and made sure each dog was ok with the sliding door, taking turns having them eat a treat from it several times over the course of a few hours. In the first real 'training' session, within seconds (wow!!) my dogs were scratching the DiggerDog. My puppy was very enthusiastic while my older dogs were more careful and deliberate. My puppy's front nails were filed within that first session by about 20% and I was the one who stopped it to avoid her filing down to her quick. The nail cut angle is odd, and 1 nail didn't get filed at all due to her angle (she was kind of digging sideways). I am confident that over the next sessions we can work on that.I look forward to my older dogs' 2nd and 3rd sessions. Their nails are maybe 5% trimmed after their 1st session, due to their carefulness. I think they will be more confident with each session based on their increased confidence just over the course of the 1st session.I am overjoyed, and impressed, and truly grateful to the DiggerDog Nail File company for this product. I would rate higher with more stars if possible. I will be recommending this to every person I ever meet who has a dog. Thank you so much - Me & my Pack (Serenity, Enya, & Mercy).

Genius!!!
This product has been a God send for my young German Shepherd! I’ve rescued and fostered GSDs most of my life. They are big babies who are known for not being fond of their feet being touched. Our last foster fail came to us about a year ago. It’s crazy how he loves to “hold hands” but the second there’s a trimmer in my hand it’s game over! The vet couldn’t even do it and said I would need to sedate him prior to a nail trim. This wasn’t an option I was fond of so I set out to research and came across this product. I know there’s some mixed reviews but I’m so glad I took the chance. It took maybe 2 sessions for Arlo to get it and now he’s a pro! Make sure you put high value treats in there and the second they scratch once, reward! Repeat til they get it. And increase the number of times they scratch before the next reward (opening the slide so they can have a treat) Only caution is to reward in between a few scratches and keep checking they don’t get too short because it files them down quickly! Really appreciate this stress free and low cost (in the big picture) option! No stress and trips to the groomer or vet! It does not do the back nails nor dew claws. I get the dews quickly while he’s napping. Best back technique is with 2 people. Person in from has spray cheese or peanut butter. It’s enough distraction for the person in back to trim quickly!

Great for thick, overgrown dog nails
So happy with this purchase. We’ve only had it for 2 days but already my Weimaraner’s very thick, overgrown nails are grinding down, and she is getting the hang of the game fairly quickly. Finally an answer to an issue we’ve faced for years !

A worthwhile product
This product works really well with our younger dog who does not like having his feet touched at all! As he's still quite young he scratches at the board with vigour and that definitely helps with keeping his front paw nails filed. As our dogs are Med/Large sized, it doesn't really work on their back paw claws but at least these are weight baring and hence not such a big problem. The older (7yo) is too gentle so I use a rotary file for him as although he doesn't like it, he will let me do it.I don't know how we would manage with the younger one without this product. I would recommend it.
