OMRI-listed, Actinovate SP is a high concentration of a patented beneficial bacterium on a 100% water-soluble powder. As a powerful spray, it controls and suppresses foliar diseases including powdery and downy mildew, botrytis, alternaria. When used as a drench, it controls soilborne diseases including pythium, rhizoctonia, fusarium, phytophthora, verticillium, and other root-decaying fungi. Because of the special properties of this microbe, it makes minerals and micronutrients more available to plants. These plants will be vigorous, have increased vitality and much better root growth. Actinovate SP contains the microorganism Streptomyces lydicus strain WYEC 108. When introduced into the soil, this microbe colonizes and grows around the root system of plants. As it settles into the root's rhizosphere, a synergy occurs such that the microbe feeds from the plant's waste materials while secreting beneficial and protective byproducts. The combination of the colonization and the protective secretions forms a defensive barrier around the plant's root system that in turn suppresses and controls soil pathogens.
