Very good pen-style thermometer. Very pleased with it.
LOVE this thermometer! Probe thermometers, especially good accurate ones, are always worth having on hand. I have the sort of IR beam type thermometers that you can use to measure a surface temp from a distance, the probe type ones you leave in and read with an app, and have analog-type probe thermometers, but you can't get into a food with the beam type, the apps and range suck for the leave-in type, and the analog probe type ones have to be manually calibrated and often become un-calibrated. It's not tough to calibrate with ice water, but I wanted a "thermo-pen" style meat thermometer as it's easy to use, read, calibrate, plus very reliable. This one is NSF certified, was fast to get a reading and really accurate, more so than I expected. LOVE that no matter which direction you hold it, the display rotates so that it never displays upside down! How cool is that! The display is brightly lit and easy to read, important if your grill lid is blocking the sun. Auto-off feature is a great charge-saver. Turns on when you flip the probe out and turns off when you close it back up! And pretty waterproof as well, so very easy cleanup under the sink. You shouldn't just let it soak in a sink or body of water, but just about any other moisture or oil/fat you throw at it will clean up easy. I kinda wish it was USB-chargeable, but I'm not sure how you accomplish that and make it as waterproof and easily cleaned as it is now. Plus it only uses two AAA batteries, so not like I can't just use rechargeable ones to save money. I just have to plug the batteries in rather than the thermometer. Yeah, I very much recommend it.

Best thermometer I've ever used!
The needle is sharp, but not so sharp it cuts you if you graze the edge, so it goes into even the toughest meat with ease. Has saved us from several still-frozen-centers on meat that needed to be roasted from frozen, despite the exterior appearing to show a fully cooked meat. Temperature changes rapidly, so you can easily move from one piece of meat to another and get an accurate reading within seconds. Easy to clean the needle, and it snaps into a little rubber channel to ensure it doesn't get bent. As an added bonus, it has an auto-on and auto-off feature based on pulling the needle out, which is extremely convenient!

battery ran out quick
didn’t think it would happen so soon but battery’s died quicker than expected. we used it on our chuck roast and chicken patties and it worked great. you can see it in the dark and it gave you the temp quickly. just wish the battery lasted longer

Excellent - A Must Have
Discovered meat thermometers a few years ago while watching Master Chef. The contestants often used them. If it's good enough for them, why not me???Truly, meat thermometers are the only way to go. They take the guess work out of cooking times and allow you to know the precise interior temperature for a perfect cook each time. No more over/under cooked dinners! The ChefsTemp is excellent. Good quality and functions perfectly. It's the nicest I've used. Highly recommended.

Beefy, Accurate and Easy to Use
This thermometer is easy to use. Unfold the probe and the display lights up and displays the temp. It reads fairly quickly. It will go to sleep after a while when you leave the probe unfolded and will reactivate when you pick it back up. If you are unsure of its accuracy, there is a way for you to calibrate it manually as described in the manual. It's a lot "beefier" than others that I have which is nice - just grab the thermometer and stick it in.

Does the job!
I’ve never had a meat thermometer before and never really needed one. However, I’ve started to try more recipes. Also, the biggest reason I wanted one is because I am weird about chicken. I almost always dry it out trying to make sure it’s 100% cooked. That’s no longer an issue now! This thermometer is very nice and good quality. Its durable. It reads as soon as you open the needle. It’s very practical and is a great addition to my kitchen!

Nice, accurate, does what it needs to!
I liked the fact that it's auto on/auto off. Makes it really easy to make your measurements and not have to worry about battery life and all that. Display is back lit and very easy to read, even in direct sunlight. I even made burgers in 30 degree temps just so I could test this, and have some tasty burgers too of course. LOL.I 100% recommend this to anyone who is concerned about proper cooking temps, and just for the added convenience of knowing that your steak is cooked to the perfect temperature.A+++++
