Diana Ross & The Supremes - The No. 1's

Excellent and not just another tired old compilation. Every track has been lovingly remixed from the original Motown masters. The sound is fabulous. All the bv's have been brought forward in the mixes so you can clearly hear the Supremes (or in many cases the Motown studio group the Andantes who actually sing on the majority of Supremes singles and album tracks) and this collection is now my go-to pick. I especially LOVE the 'cleaned up' version of STONED LOVE - which features JEAN TERRELL on lead (she replaced Diana in 1970) because this is my all-time favourite Supremes song and now this mix is crystal clear - unlike like all the previous versions I've bought and played since it's release in 1970.

The music, as expected, is excellent. This review is more for the vinyl. All I can say is WOW! The sound is phenomenal and I cannot recommend highly enough. Another good thing is that they have used the US CD version which means you get tracks which don't fade out until the band or the vocals stop.

What can one say about Diana Ross that hasn't been said.I saw her 4 times and she was fantastic.This cd has all their number ones.Brilliant.Shame they split up as they could have gone on much longer.So Diana Ross-Thanks for all the great music-With and without the Supremes.

if you are starting to get into diana ross and the supremes then this is a cd for you. all the hits are on this album, (not all ) you will find that most of the tracks have been changed in some way, you need to listen to other hit cds to find this out. the only bad think i will say is the very last track, you keep me hanging on,this is not a very good dance version of the song. i have 7 version's of this song and they seem to have put the worst one on this cd, why dont they think first. but apart from that it is well worth the money and you will enjoy a few special moments on the cd, with the girls giving as allways there best.

This could have been a great compilation of Supremes hits, but this UK release uses older masters for its tracks. Instead you need the EU or US version for the best sound.

beautiful sounding vinyl, also tracks are not cut off at the end so song finishes naturally , really is such a great quality vinyl, came really quickly too ..
