Super Easy, Even With One Hand
I used this to reopen 3 lower ear piercings that had long closed up and I really want to wear pretty earrings without the hassle of locating and paying someone a ton of money. So let me tell you how easy this was. I had arm surgery the day before and it was in a cast. Being as determined to do this for years, I used one (1) uno hand to clean the ear lobes very well, gloved 1/2 of a hand, all of the good hand, and used as clean process as I could to perform these procedures alone. Piece.Of.Cake seriously, it was. Just make sure you practice once on the cardboard ear cutout that comes with the kit. The instructions didn't come with my package (it's typical) so I watched the video about 4 times at their website. I marked my earlobes trying to measure with one hand and mark with one hand (this was not easy but it worked out fine for me). Making sure the piercing gun was perpendicular to my ear, slowly press the trigger without moving or flinching. Done. Two more times. Completely done. None of the backings of the ears became stuck in the gun (which I had read so many times happening to others). The downsides: Please Studex -- include the instructions in the kits! For crying out loud! It's been over 4 weeks now and I've been cleaning them daily, turning and pulling the studs while using alcohol to clean. Two more weeks and I hope to wear my pretty earrings again. And someday my arm is going to heal and get this cast / splint off. Don't be afraid - just familiarize yourself with all the pieces, watch the online videos, tell yourself if the girl in the video can do it, then you can. Wash your hands better than usual and get some nonsterile gloves on before you go touching all the parts inside the package. You don't want to transfer extra germs onto the gun or the earrings before using. Be cautious, careful and go slowly. Enjoy!!!

Excellent quality and very easy to use. Practice aiming first though!
Worth every dollar. The mechanism is top quality, once lined up, virtually painless. The most difficult part is getting the piercing stud and back inserted without contaminating it; however, it's a simple thing to get a cotton swab to clean the post and ear lobe before activating the Studex. It is a very good idea to practice on the thick cardboard practice ear before punching holes in your head. I found that no matter how carefully I liked up the point, the gun always shot high, between 2-3 mm higher than I was aiming. I did my ear lobes to correct poorly spaced previous piercings and found it to be much easier than anticipated. I do have to admit that the first couple of tries were way too high, and I removed the stud immediately, cleaned it, and was ultimately successful in getting the stud exactly where I wanted it. Yes, there are a couple of extra holes now, but they have not presented any issues (infection and the like) . Practice with the cardboard ear until you get comfortable with your aim and your particular Studex tool. Some might shoot high, low, left or right but practice will eliminate accidentally punching holes in the wrong spot. There are other piercing tools available at lower prices, but some reviews indicate sticking or jamming; you won't find that with the Studex. High quality tool, highly recommended.

Easy. Mostly anyway.
Upon receiving my item it was fairly apparent that this is marketed towards those who intend to use it commercially and offer basic piercings through a store or business. That's not me. In fact I don't know if I'll use it much at all and that's fine as I don't care to deal with 3rd parties in this endeavor. I simply needed to re-pierce my ear as the original pierce closed up some time ago. This kit includes everything you need to pull off a basic piercing on your own with no help. It also includes a thick cardboard ear for practice which I recommend doing at least once as another reviewer on here said it doesn't shoot straight. I didn't have that issue as my gun fired perfectly where I lined it up to. The kit comes with a single pair of simple stainless steel ball piercing studs. The kit instructions overtly emphasize the importance of being sterile and or sanitary in your method. That method includes loading the stud and clasp into the gun via a plastic magazine that the earrings come loaded into as to not physically touch the earrings with your dirty hands. It is then suggested to mark your ear in the desired spot for the piercing with the included black marking pen. Now back to the gun with the stud and clasp loaded ready and this is important. I chose to perform this procedure over my bathroom sink in front of the mirror. I set the loaded piercing gun on its side in order to mark my ear. As I picked up the gun to initiate the piercing the stainless steel stud fell from the gun and went right down the drain. Luckily I was only piercing one ear and I still had the other earring that I shot into the cardboard practice ear but I unfortunately had to touch it with my dirty hands and go against the direction of the instructions. Careful not to drop the 2nd earring I brought the piercing gun to my ear and yet still found myself somewhat uncomfortable as I waited for the piercing gun to slam shut on my earlobe. I guess its better to not expect it. Anyhow, I pulled it off and it turned out great. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to do a simple piercing and not have to deal with one of those teenager shops at the local mall.

Perfect..
Very easy to use very easy to assemble. I've heard a few people say that the gun has jammed. I think with anything that we buy there's a risk to it not working properly. Mine worked great so I definitely recommend and Definitely easy to use
