Thinner than some, but still works well
Water activated, reinforced tape works well but it's a lot more lightweight than the tape that I normally buy. It's narrower, too. I didn't pay attention to the width of the tape so I needed two strips per seam to get a good, solid seal. You don't need a dispenser to use this kind of tape. I keep a spray bottle filled with water handy and that works perfectly well.

Good Water Activated Tape!
I apparently didn't quite know what I was getting when I ordered this. I've obviously used packing tape before, but I tend to use the plastic adhesive kind. Despite the fact that this is clearly labeled as "water activated", I did think something was wrong when I first received it, as it appears to be a roll of reinforced paper tape with no adhesive. But what it actually is, is the same sort of material/adhesive that you would find on an envelope. Once water is applied, this stuff is super powerful! The tape itself is reinforced with fibers throughout, the same kind that many amazon boxes are sealed with. This material can't easily be torn, so scissors are necessary. I found it a bit difficult to figure out the best way to activate each piece, especially when using a particularly long piece. I'm guessing there are tools specifically for this, but I had some success using a wet sponge. It did get a little messy, though, and I had to wash some sticky stuff off my hands afterwards (it washed off easily).Once sealed, it feels extremely secure and looks a lot cleaner and more professional than clear tape. I sold something online and packed it in a repurposed box with this tape. Normally that would look a bit sloppy, but the tape really helped make it look clean and sturdy. So, as long as you know exactly what you're getting (and I have seen confused reviews for this product that suggest not everyone did), this is easy to recommend! If you send a lot of packages, this might be a good thing to switch to over the clear packing tape, as it seems a lot stronger and is probably a bit better environmentally than plastic.

Works well.
I sometime ship items in reused boxes. These sometimes look a little messed up from removing the original packing tape. That's why I like to some of this brown tape on hand. It covers any of the old taped areas and gives the package a clean look. I usually use clear packing tape, and this one doesn't stick quite as good as the clear tape. It's not really an issue, because if I feel that it's not sticking to well I just add some extra clear tape to the package. Like I said, this brown tape does a good job of making used boxes look better. I'm happy with it.

Water-activated Kraft-paper packing tape is excellent.
One reviewer said this tape had no adhesive. Either they received a strangely defective roll, or they didn’t read the information in the listing. My roll? Exactly as much adhesive as advertised. I cut off a piece to test, and ran a fairly damp sponge along the (shiny) adhesive side. Then I stuck it on a box.A few days later, I pulled it off. Rather, I Tried to pull it off. As stated in the listing, it wouldn’t come off cleanly, but left significant residue. As advertised: five stars.btw: If you use the water-activated packing tape regularly, you can get a ‘tape dispenser’ that sits on the desk or table. It holds water, and an edge to neatly tear off the tape at the length you wish. Very handy.

Don't love it
I normally use regular packing tape but wanted to try something else and liked the idea of using something more eco friendly. This tape is just okay. The water activation is frustrating and I don't think it holds up nearly as well as regular tape. My boxes don't feel as secure, especially on the bottom. If it's really lightweight it's fine but anything that's even remotely heavy feels like it's going to burst through the tape. I wouldn't buy this again.
