HGST, a Western Digital Company Touro Mobile USB 3.0 Portable Drive 1TB (0S03801)

I am returning this. There are no instructions and it automatically starts uploading things to the cloud. Seems impossible to retrieve anything from the local or cloud drive. Again, no instructions. Not intuitive at all. Searched the company website - still no instructions. I have a degree in electronics and I couldn't figure out how to use it!UPDATE: I have cancelled my return. I looked up instructions for reformatting this disk just to make sure that there were none of my files left on there. Now it works just fine! It was the software that was difficult, and now it's just a blank hard drive. I have started moving my files over and it works like I had hoped it would in the first place. Still only giving three starts because of the difficulty.

I got this for my husband as he was always running our of memory on his XBOX One. This is small, easy to set up, and plenty of room. It's high speed transfer makes game loads easy and now we aren't picking which games to delete to make room for something else. Excellent investment and very happy with the hard drive.

I am a Mac user and purchased this hard drive to double as a backup disk and external storage for especially large files. I had no problems partitioning the drive into 2 chunks (1 for Time Machine backups, 1 for general storage) and have no issues interfacing with the device. However, the drive-side usb jack is not very sturdy. The cable does not attach very firmly, and gentle nudges disrupt the connection, accidentally ejecting the drive. I haven't had any negative repercussions yet, but I fear that these connection disruptions might corrupt or damage my files.

I've been using this drive for a few months now and have nothing to complain about. It functions just as well as the day I bought it. It's got a slim profile so its easy to hide on my desk and great for taking on the go.

Good performance.

When I first plugged it in, many of my programs reset default to Windows Media Player (?!) and there were NO on screen instructions (as indicated) to follow. I had to reset my PC to a previous date, then Google 'how to back up your computer to an external hard drive' by Whitson Gordon to get easy to follow, 4 steps, precise instructions. Otherwise, I was ready to send it back. Maybe it will be OK now, but-cheez- what an ordeal!

Love it... but am having problems with the cable connecting to USB port. My computer doesn't recognize the device unless I get it JUST right Which makes it a little frustrating, but once it's hooked up it's amazing.

This drive is reliable. That is the most important thing to me in choosing a portable hard drive. I've had several internal and external HGST drives, including 24/7 operation, and never had a problem. They just work.
