keeps pickles crisp and fresh pen_spark
This pickle jar has been a revelation in my kitchen! I love how the hourglass design keeps the pickles separate from the juice, preventing them from becoming soggy. The jar is well-made and feels sturdy in my hand. The lid seals tightly, preventing any leaks or spills in my refrigerator. The wide mouth makes it easy to fill and clean, and the time recorder is a handy feature for those who like to ferment their own pickles. It's also aesthetically pleasing and looks great on my countertop. I would definitely recommend this pickle jar to any pickle enthusiast.

Great idea
I've seen this concept before and always thought it was a good idea, so was pleased to be able to get one, especially as I would not consider spending £25.99 on a glass jar ordinarily. It has a soft pink coloured lid and strainer, so naturally they market it for 'mom', I probably would prefer any other colour than pink, and I'm a mum!It is also a large jar and you may struggle to fit it in the fridge. This does mean it has a nice wide opening though, so it is easy to get inside to either get your onions/gherkins etc out, or clean it of course. It is made of borosilicate glass so relatively tough, wouldn't recommend dropping it though! There are also dials on the top so you can date your contents but they are very difficult to read as although they are raised they are the same colour as the rest of the lid. You do need to make sure you have done the lid up tightly as you are storing it on it's lid, but that's just common sense.Overall, lots of features to love but a choice of colours would be good and I'm not sure the price is justified, but I haven't done my market research on average price for one of these, so it could be good value for all I know.

This scratches an itch that I didn't even know was itchy
A very unique product for sure, but it works really well.I've lost count at the amount of times I've had pickled gherkins and onions giving me the slip when trying to pick them out of a jar, not to mention the amount of times I've dripped vinegar absolutely everywhere during my attempts. This simple contraption is brilliant - we have neighbours that grow and pickle their own onions, and we also buy quite a few jars from our local Tesco so we always at least have one jar at any one time in our place - we just empty it all into this jar, and when it's dinner time, just flip it over and marvel as it all drains into the space at the bottom. Once done, flip it back over!Such a simple product that is just so handy to have.

Why have I never seen the likes of this before.
The 'Glass Pickle Jar with Strainer Hourglass, 1500ml Flip Pickle Olive Jar for Pickle Juice Separator' arrived in a branded box that also included instructions.I have to say I have never seen the likes of this separator before, but wish I had. I cannot count the number of times I have chased pickled onions around a jar of vinegar, even using a pickle fork, as the number of onions dropped the harder it was to spear an onion. With this pickle jar I can just tip the pickles inside and the fluids are automatically separated as they drain to the lower section and my pickles become a captive audience, easy to pick out. And once done and the lid secure, a quick flip of the jar again and the pickles are back in vinegar. The shaped lid is quite large, and maybe an issue for people with small hands, though with larger hands I had no problems, tightening or loosening it and with fluids inside and the jar inverted there was no signs of leakage.I at first thought the two indicators on top were just hard to rotate, but they come off and are pushed back in the correct location.I can see this jar getting a lot of use in the coming years.

It's good but not great. And quite pricey!
I really wanted to like this, but it doesn't quite live up to its description. It does work, I decanted a precious large jar of homemade cucumber pickle into it. It does strain it and make it easier to serve the pickle, then you invert it back and the vinegar covers the pickle until next time. Great. But ..... if you don't screw the 'lid' on properly it leaks everywhere. It's too big to fit in the fridge. It's too big and that means your vinegar is in touch with the air, too much, so you have to use up the pickle fast. That's disappointing. A smaller version would be fab.I like the handle grip hollows. I don't like the 'calendar' system, you can't see it or read it. I think it should be smaller and it is too easy to not screw the lid down properly. It's good but not great. And quite pricey!

Good jar for pickle lovers
When I am on a low calorie meal plan I rely on pickles every day to help get me through (tasty, filling and low calorie) and so something like this is ideal for me. It helps separate the liquid from the pickles and so I can have either juicy or dry pickles and it also makes it easier to remove them. The wide mouth of the jar makes I even easier to reach the pickles and clean the jar when needed, but due to this size (and the liquid depository) it takes up a lot of space in the fridge. The glass is well made and dishwasher proof, but I would expect nothing less at this price.Overall, I think it is a good product but only worth it if you are really into your pickled/fermented foods, as it does take up a lot of space in the fridge and is expensive for what it is.
