A great read
This is a lovely story about being the caretaker of a house full of magical beings. So, what happens when a human is added to the mix? Oh, and the said human can't know about the rest of the tenants being magical. What follows is hysterical. Corbin, the caretaker tries his utmost to keep the human as safe as possible, whilst trying to sort out his own life (from his office), and failing miserably!A great read and I hope EV brings these characters back in the future as they were all good.

Spoiler free - If you love a chuckle, read this book.
I received this book, with thanks, as an ARC and enjoyed it immensely! It’s an easy read made all the more enjoyable by the quick wit and sarcastic humour of the characters. I laughed all the way through. It really appealed to my sense of humour.A story about found family. Where differences are accepted and everyone has an important place in this adopted family. The characters and relationship building is so powerful that, even though there is a good number of people in this gang, it’s easy to keep track of everyone and their special ‘abilities’.If you love the dry sarcasm of Skulduggery Pleasant, and the entertaining play on phrases of Neil Gaiman then you will absolutely love this story.

Great story
I love this book. It was my first ARC (Advanced Reading Copy) read and I couldn't put it down. I needed to know whether the new Tenant was human or not just as much as Corbin. The characters are all well drawn out. You can see that they all have their own story and their own plot and I need more of them. No seriously, I need more of them.Especially Annlisa. I need her story. Please.Corbin has a journey that I just absolutely love and one that was absolutely worth going on with him.

One of my favorite books of 2023!
If you love Neil Gaiman and/or T.J. Klune, you are going to love this book! From the first chapter I was catching the same feelings I felt when I started Neverwhere and The House in the Cerulean Sea. This story is wonderfully magical and whimsical with a glorious cast of creature characters that left me belly laughing at their antics as I fell in love with each one.Corbin is an aspiring villain who took a temporary job as the caretaker of an apartment building full of magical tenants. Eight years on, he is feeling rather stuck as he is no closer to achieving his dream of villainy, and he is still chasing after his tenants. After one of his tenants needs to leave abruptly, the Powers That Be call with an immediate request and an offer he cannot refuse. The catch? His new tenant *might* be human, which means the total disruption of the lives of everyone in the building as they are forced to hide their true natures. And, if Corbin can't figure her out by the impending deadline, he will lose his job.Corbin reminded me so much of Linus from THCS and Richard from Neverwhere because all of these characters started out having relatively ordinary, boring lives (as boring as being in charge of magical children/adults can be, that is) and they were all thrust into the reluctant hero role.If you like modern urban fantasies with queer representation, found family, quirky humor, magic, and relatively low stakes, I highly recommend picking up The Tenfold Tenants! I bought a paperback copy to put on my shelf with my Gaimans and my Klunes. Excellent job by this author, I am very much looking forward to seeing what they write next!

Charming and Funny
I picked this up on a whim and was pleasantly surprised. It was funny and quirky with a cast of lovable characters. Corbin’s expectations have always been to end up as a villain, he went to school for it after all, but he’s been stuck for eight years as the caretaker of a house full of magical tenants. When an opportunity for a promotion arises he agrees to take in a human suspected of being magical but he must not let on to her that he’s trying to uncover her secrets. Shenanigans ensue with the tenants trying to hide what they are. I was trying to pick a favorite character and it’s so hard but I love Ben the necromancer and his skeleton Luke. Michael the vampire trying to stay in one piece and Tammy and Jules banter were some of my favorite. I don’t know if this is a standalone or is part of a series but I can’t wait to see what else this author does.

This book changed me
I got this from the cozy the day away sale and it's the best out of all of them. I'm hoping that I can get a physical copy now to reread - fingers crossed that maybe I could find a signed copy? I know I'm not sharing much about the book itself, but I just finished and I feel really emotional... The characters were so unique and vivid, the pacing was the perfectly balanced. The twist toward the end surprised me but also was the only thing that could have possibly happened. This story was absolutely incredible and I feel like a different person than when I started reading it.

A wildly charming and hilarious magical adventure!
Describing the plot of Tenfold Tenants in an elevator speech is … challenging. You have the story of a man tasked with supervising a house for transient magical creatures who never seem to move on, you have the story of a young girl who may or may nit be magical, you have the story of a man who is darkly ambitious to fulfill his evil destiny, and within each you have interactions, subplots and intrigue. You also have touching stories of found family, of love and jealousy and selfless devotion, and an overarching desire to just find somewhere to fit in.All of it combines into a wildly engaging and wickedly funny tale that feels constantly in danger of spinning out of control but is reeled back in by some sense of mundane normalcy. The namesake tenants are a wild mix of both creature types and personalities, but at their center is the highly flappable Corbin who has just taken on a task that could change the trajectory of his life - but he can’t let them know about it.Also at the center of activities is Annalies, a young woman whose magical status is unknown so she can’t know how special everyone else is or that Corbi is trying to determine what powers if any she possesses.Saying ‘hijinks ensue’ doesn’t begin to cover it - there is certainly some tension and excitement, but otherwise I would describe this as a cozy adventure - and one that I highly recommend!

Utterly adorable!
Ok I'm a sucker for cozy magical fiction. Add in found family? Queer folk bonding and loving and finding their peace? Oh and the good ones winning in the end, best part. I ate this book up and cannot wait for the sequel!
