Accurate and Easy
I bought this after losing my second Bushnell Neo Ghost. The Phantom is basically the same thing but with a built-in magnet. I’ve used it to golf so for about seven or eight times and it works great. I’ve read complaints about the magnet not being strong enough, but it has worked fine for me. Unless you bump it or knock it off, it stays on through a whole round. Even over rough ground. Bushnell could certainly make it stronger, but I haven’t had a problem with it.The accuracy is great. I have compared it with other people who are wearing a GPS watch or holding a monocular style GPS rangefinder. It’s always within about 1 yard of everyone else’s. The Phantom also loads much faster than the Ghost did. Usually within 30 seconds it will load a course where the Ghost would take a minute or two or three.I have used the shot calculator as well to see how far I hit a shot and that is handy. The only thing this doesn’t do that I can tell is tell you how far it is to a hazard. In those cases a monocular would be better. But otherwise, I love using the Phantom. It’s it’s right there on the front bar of the cart and is easily viewable to both golfers.Battery life is good. I do charge it between every round and it never dies. Once or twice I have forgotten to charge it and it has lasted a second round as well. But I wouldn’t push it past that. This is my third Bushnell range finder and I love it! Would highly recommend it. And it’s definitely worth it to get the Phantom instead of the Ghost. The ghost is hard to see down in a cup holder and otherwise you have to clip it to your belt or hold it. The Phantom with the magnet is perfect!

Great Little Device
I've owned this for almost a year. Very accurate and handy. Battery life is sufficient for 2 rounds (4.5 hours each). The only negatives I can report are the following: 1) when I first got this, perhaps 1-2 times per round the device will reset, meaning it goes back to the "Play Golf" screen and then takes about 2 mins to find the course. Subsequently I downloaded a software update and that fixed the problem. Works flawlessly now. 2) The other negative is the small rubber mat that covers the charge port doesn't completely close and you have to fiddle with it to close it. Not a big deal.If you do buy this, I suggest also buying the Jovono anti-lost case or equivalent. The magnet that holds the device is strong but if you carry your bag (which I do) it will come detached at some point. It happened to me and luckily someone turned it in to lost and found. With the anti-lost case, you can't lose the device.Update: Sept 2020. The occasional reset per round now occurs 5-6 times per round. I wrote Bushnell asking to explain why this happens 2 weeks ago and thus far no response. I finally reached them by phone and they suggested a software update. I did this and no further issues.

Great for 2 weeks when it worked. Amazon return policy was key, waiting for new one now as exchange
I had always been looking at the Garmin watch units and didn't like the fact that they had a proprietary charging cable. After golfing with two buddies that had GPS units, I asked what they used. One used a Bushnell watch and the other used this unit. His comment about the Bushnell Phantom was that the numbers are super huge on the display compared to most other units. When I looked at it and saw it used the standard micro USB plug to charge, I was sold. He put it in the cupholder on his cart and said that if I relied on the magnet, it would come off with any bumpy ride. Since I walk, he told me not to rely on the magnet for my cart but to get one of the Jonovo (sp?) cases.I got the unit and the case and it worked well for a couple of rounds. There were some hiccups, can't be used as GPS when charging, and stays on after charging so you need to remember to turn it off. all that was pretty minor. It has a large readout for distance to middle and front/back of green, an easy shot distance measuring function to set where you hit from and look at when you get to your ball which helps you decide what clubs get what distance. Also has distances to hazards such as water, bunkers, etc and carry distance to get over water hazards using initials to describe the hazards, not hard to remember \.Bushnell has a free app that registers with the device serial number which gives a good flyover of the hole if you're new to the course.this all sounds pretty good, why did I give it only 4 stars? well, after about a week of use on three rounds, when I went to unclip the case from my cart before putting my clubs in my car, I noticed it was on it was on the initial power on screen, even though I had turned it off at the 18th green. Strangely, it was not responsive to any button, even trying to reset it by holding the down button on the left and the power button on top as suggested by Bushnell.Thankfully I had it for only a couple of weeks and it was still in the Amazon return window. Since I got it on a black friday special, I didn't want to have to return it and have to buy a new one for 50% more but , Amazon offered the option to get a direct replacement. so I took that. hopefully my first unit wasn't the harbinger of poor quality control.Anyway, while it works, it was great for me.Pros:*Good accuracy*Large display,*easy to navigate to different functions*standard micro USB charging connection*iPhone app is a nice benefit. I haven't used it in the field as i was at a course I knew well*Amazon return policy is top notch!Cons*needs a 3rd party option of case to not lose. It would be nice if there was some sort of ring or something to firmly attach a lanyard or other method to secure other than the magnet*stopped responding to the buttons after < 2 weeks use leads to questionable quality control

Best and easiest range finder I've used
I purchased this rangefinder in Apr. 2020 for $100. I hope it lasts a long time because it's now listed at $200, so I won't have another. I bolted a steel bracket to a spring clamp so I can clamp and magnetically fasten the range finder on the golf cart in a easily visible location. One glance when I'm adjacent to the ball gives me the distance to the green, and I've found that the Phantom is very accurate. Also, any player riding in the cart with me also glances at the Phantom, ignoring his own rangefinder. If the Phantom displays the wrong hole for some reason - a simple push of the up or down button instantly corrects the problem (I've seen other players struggle to get their range finder back to displaying the correct hole; not me, mine is simple). The battery lasts a few holes over two rounds, but I recharge it after each golf outing, whether 18 or 27 or 36 holes. I also have a Bushnell laser rangefinder, but I haven't used it since I received the Phantom; the Phantom is much easier to use and nearly as accurate, at least accurate enough for my game. I really like this device and I hope it lasts a long time.

Compact and useful
Works well. Easy to use. The only issue was the small black rubber overgrown the charging slit broke off the first hind we charged it...it won’t be long before that is lost!

Great quality golf GPS
Really nice GPS which is surprisingly accurate. Compared the distances to a built-in GPS on a PowaKaddy trolley and was delighted to see the distances shown were exactly the same.Easy to use, literally turn on wait for the satellites to pick up your location (takes a couple of minutes) and select your course. The magnet and clip, I don't use them. It's small enough to keep in your pocket and not notice when playing a shot. The magnet does seem quite strong however, I've not really tested it.I believe most reviews say the battery will last for 2 rounds however, I've now played 2 and still have 50% battery life remaining. Finally, the distance to hazards is really useful and again, the distances given are very accurate compared to the more expensive GPS's.If you're looking for a basic, inexpensive yet accurate golf GPS, this is a great option.

Brilliant golf GPS
I was previously using a phone app until a friend of mine showed me one of these, I then got one for myself. It’s an amazing piece of kit, very accurate and when paired with the phone app, gives you all the info you’ll ever need about the course. It gives front, middle, back distances, a flyover if the hole showing distances to hazards etc. and you can also put pins wherever you like to find the distance to that point. Great for tracking scores as well, you can also input things such as if you missed the fairway left/right, how many putts you had and it will give you all the data at the end of the round. Well worth the price.
