One of those tools you don't know you need until you use it.
I have installed LVT, LVP, laminate, and hardwood flooring. I many cases we make a "bimmy" which is just a scrap piece that we can attach on one side to the row we're laying down and then hammer the other side to knock the piece into place. This tapping block is put adjacent to the new flooring piece and absorb the hit of the hammer or mallet to spread the force along 15" of the flooring piece to get it into place. Depending on how you are laying the floor and the way the edges interlock, this may be a great tool. If you have a fine edge that is delicate then this might not be the tool. If it's a blunt edge like the LVT (luxury vinyl tile) we installed with it, then this was a great tool that increased efficiency.

plastic
large enough to spread force. it is not so heavy but can be tapped on with rubber mallet with success.

Worked great
We are laying laminate floor in our basement and needed a tapping block and spacers. Grabbed this in preparation for the fun that was waiting for us. This was the first time we have laud flooring so wasn’t really sure what we needed but knew we’d need a tapping block.Went to the store to get the flooring and grabbed some spacers and pry bar. I knew this set came with spacers but figured we’d need more and thought these looked cheap. I opened the ones I got from the store and quickly realized they weren’t any better than these and at $13/box for the one I bought at the store I switched over to using these and they are just as good. I mean they’re spacers…not sure what I expected. Lol They do the job they’re supposed to do. Love the size of the tapping block too. Wide enough and high enough that when I’m pounding on it with a mallet I don’t miss and smack myself.Would definitely recommend!

Great
This tapping block for flooring was an indispensable tool for my flooring project! It is durable and very well constructed. It def could withstand repeated use without damage. The block effectively distributes the force of each tap, helping secure the planks without causing dents or damage. Its design and performance makes it easy to handle, simplifying the installation process. Totally worth the money if you looking to change your flooring yourself.

A Must-Have for LVP Installation
My husband just finished using this to install LVP flooring in our rental kitchen and said it was an absolute essential to getting the job done. He didn't have a mallet, so he just hit the block tapper with a hammer and it worked perfectly. It was easy to use and had a nice grip. He said the one downside is that even though the spacers worked for the most part, it would be nice if they were more stable because sometimes they slipped out of place or fell over. They still worked and he got the job done, but that was his one complaint. Other than that, he said this was a great tool, had a good weight to it, and was a great value for the price.

Good Tool for Laminate Flooring Work
I ordered this for two upcoming projects, actually. First, I have some laminate flooring left over from a flooring project from over 22 years ago when laminate was a new thing. I held on to them and was about to donate to Habitat for Humanity when I decided I wanted to do a somewhat modified shiplap style wall treatment. After I received sticker shock from pricing wood planking, I decided to try and use this wide board laminate. I'm going to paint the laminate white and leave a gap between the board to have a black contrast. I will pre-drill the laminate, attach to the studs with countersunk screws, and cover with large wrought iron door nail covers that I already have. This tapping block and the spacers will both work perfectly (i think) for the installation). Also, I have stored engineered hardwood flooring planks I bought on sale that I need to install in several rooms, so I will be using this tapping block for that project as well. I haven't decided whether I'll be nailing down that flooring or glueing it, but I think the tapping block will be helpful either way. The tapping block is sturdy and weighty enough, but very comfortable to hold and work with in the minimal testing I've done. Also, I like that I don't have to use a hammer with it which can certainly dent the hardwood if you are careless with it. Good price for this item, too.
