Okay- so this is a simple little thing, right? ... a clip on water bottle holder. It is what it is, AND I don't even ride horses (sorry, but I prefer a steering wheel or something with handlebars). So why write a review? ...because I love this thing!My son is an active multi-sport athlete and I looked for over a year for a water bottle holder that would:- Hold multiple size bottles (including the tall 32oz Gatorade squeeze bottles)- Clip easily on and off of a dugout fence or D-rings on bags- Provide at least a little insulationCheck, check, and check! This simple little, well-made holder is exactly what I needed. The bottle is a cheap, but functional squeeze bottle (never use it- in the donation pile), but the awkward Gatorade squeezers slide right in, as do large and small earth-killing disposable water bottles. I bet I have 5 or 6 other holsters and carriers and insulating wraps that are now collecting dust (and also headed for the donation pile) after getting this Weaver holder. I love that I can clip it on a bat bag to carry it to the field, then unclip it and clip it right on the fence or any convenient hanger. I can hang it off the seat bracket on my bike, my backpack, loops on my tent... I recommend this thing to sports folks, campers, hikers, bikers, students, and oh yeah--- probably horseback riders, too! Weaver- you should expand your marketing. The only complaint is that it is black and therefore draws and transfers a lot of heat to the bottle inside, but the black never looks dirty-- it is wearing extremely well and I have no concerns about its durability.

Love holding water bottles

This is the type I use on both English and Western saddles. No issues from the bottle holder touching/rubbing the horse that I have found so far. This one is shallow and wide, so it can hold a bigger bottle, or a normal bottle with food beside it. One photo shows how it's clipped at the top to the D ring. Other photo shows my favorite way to attach the bottom, with a wither strap from a breast collar, which makes it easy to remove.I do wish it was taller in the front, but, I've never had a bottle fall out.

I'm not a horse (I think?) but I clip it to myself, and boy, is it handy. I use the little hooky thing. It makes it super quick and easy to attach and detach. I imagine if you used the slide-through strap that it would be solid as a rock on your hip. Using the hooky thing makes my drawers droop a bit when I put a full 1-liter bottle in there, but other than that, it's aces. The velcro strap is holding up brilliantly, as well as the hooky thing. It IS a little stiff at first, but loosens up to perfection in a short period of time.Bottom line: Get one, even if you're not an actual horse.

I have the black and bought the brown for a friend. I attach to a ring near the pommel of both my English & western saddles. I added a strap with a clip to the bottom clip so I could attach it to the metal on my girth/cinch. That keeps it from flapping around. Can’t beat it for the price & I have my water bottle & Kleenex within easy reach.

I was disappointed when I opened the package. immediately I noticed that the snap was missing which I promptly replaced with when I already had on hand. The water bottle was obviously not the bottle in the picture and there were signs of the product being used as there’s horse hair and other dirt on the back of it. I didn’t choose to replace it because I need it now, so I just fixed it myself and washed off the dirt. I’m really surprised I’ve never had this happen before.

Holder seems to be very sturdy. The water bottle that comes with it is a Cheap one but i didn’t realize it came with one anyway. It will actually hold 2 water bottles if needed.
