Our niece comes and stays with us on the weekends every so often and we are always looking for activities that she enjoys. We had got a similar kit for her about a year ago and she really enjoyed putting it together with my wife. Given she liked the first one so much we thought we would get this one for her as well. I'm glad we did because she enjoyed putting this one together just as much as the first.The kit itself is easy to assemble and has a neat color changing light. Once together it makes for an excellent dreamy nightlight. It comes with replaceable button batteries for the light and remote but I have no idea how many hours you can get out of them before needing replacement. For us I think they should last a while since they are only getting used when she visits.If you are looking for a fun activity for your young one or looking for a great gift for that special kiddo in your life, I recommend this.

I got this as a gift for a friend with a 4-year-old daughter who likes unicorns. It's a fun project!The kit comes with elements that can be mixed and arranged with personal touches. At the same time, there are not an overwhelming number of parts, so it has a good balance of creativity and control. The colors are attractive and cheerful, and yet also earthy. The terrarium is made well, with thick enough glass that I'm confident it won't crack accidentally.The LED lights are a fun touch, and can also be creatively placed in the terrarium. The lights are bright enough to illuminate everything inside the terrarium. As the product description says, this makes the kit usable as a night light, or a decorative element of the child's room.All parts of this kit can be arranged and re-arranged as often as needed.Overall, a very nice gift idea for a young child. I recommend it.

What a fun and functional project. My niece had a blast making especially she is in her mermaid era. Once she was done designing we loved that it can be used as a night light in her room and it has a remote! So cute.

I got this as a gift to my 6 year old niece on her birthday and she loved this terrarium. She liked the light up feature and even included some toys of her own. This set came with everything needed and she loves to watch it at night time in her room.

I got this for my 3 year old daughter for her birthday. She loves mermaids and I thought this would be a fun project for us to do, and also when it was done she would have a really cute night light. Unfortunately that didn't work out for us. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this and think it would make a great gift and fun project for older girls. After I got this all put together for her, she would keep getting in to it and getting all the pieces out. She just wanted to play with it all. So I would definitely recommend this for probably 5 and older. It is really great. Comes with so many different pieces to make it look how you want. It also comes with a light that you place inside the lid. It changes colors and also has a remote to control it. This is very easy to put together, since you are basically decorating it how you want. All in all I think this is a great gift and I would definitely recommend!!

This is right-up my daughter's alley as her "current thing" is mermaids! Having her own DIY mermaid terrarium is so fun! She keeps it in her mermaid-themed bathroom, it makes a great centerpiece on the vanity!It features a base of magic sand, and you build your scene with a huge selection of accessories. You can use them all (lots of kids will) but if you're selective it feels much more "spacious" if it's not "crammed" with accessories!Everything is better quality than it shows on the website...pleasantly surprised at the quality of everything! You can tell that they were very concerned about the total package when building this kit, I love seeing that!

My daughter had so much fun putting this together! I did help her along the way and we both had fun decorating the inside of the glass. Everything worked great and she was so proud of it when she was done. We love that the lights has a bunch of settings! She chooses a different color to use each night as a night light. We don't keep it on all night of course. It looks just as pictured, I highly recommend for any ages!
