A Deftly Plotted Police-Procedural Mystery by One of the Masters of Gay Mystery
Another fine addition to the awesome Paul Turner mystery series by one of the masters of the gay mystery genre; a deftly plotted police-procedural cloaked in the counter-culture of angry public protests against the backdrop of decades of police corruption rising to the highest levels, and the "code of silence" adjuration intricately woven into the very fabric that holds together the thin blue line.

This one makes you think
I think I've read most all of Mark's books, and have felt more drawn to the Turner series a bit more than others (Ben being a mechanic strikes close to home 😊)Ring of Silence makes you think. It makes you ponder just how much corruption there actually is in our authority agencies and just how base some humans actually can be. It gives the glimmer of hope that good will triumph over bad, but what a treacherous road that is.Another excellent effort by the author!

The Detectives against the police department, it seems.
The Paul Turner series are enjoyable to read because of the camaraderie of the detective partners and the family life of Turner. In this case the detectives are up against much of the hierarchy of the Chicago Police Department. As usual, Zubro has a score to settle, and it is the CPD. The story is often violent, and few seem trustworthy. All in all, a good tale with some interesting characters.

Subtle best book yet
I have been a fan of Zubro since his early works. Ring of Silence is his best book yet. He captures the sad realism of corruption too often found among police and politicos. This is a story well written and difficult to put down.à

I've read all of Mark's books, and this is the best yet. More topical.

Loved the story
Loved this book. I believe that most police officers are like Paul Turner and his partner. Couldn't put it down.
