Ironwood Gourmet Nesting Bread Cutting Board with Crumb Catcher, 10.25 x 14.75 x 0.75 inches

Saw this exact thing at a friend's house and had to have one so when I was at their home I went straight to Amazon to find it. Couldn't believe there it was.....and a better price than what she paid. Love it. I leave it out all the time. Sometimes with apples on it, sometimes with tomatoes, easy to use with a baguette. Like I said, I love it!! Easy to use and great to display.

We typically buy our bread unsliced, so a good breadboard is important to us. I like the idea of the removable top so you can dump crumbs, but it's sort of an overengineered solution to a minor problem. We store this standing on its side in a cabinet with other cutting boards and cookie sheets, and it is a bit of a pain to reach for it and have it separate into two pieces when you are trying to get it out. The wood is not the best I have encountered. Still, not bad for the price, and it is easy to clean

I suppose for this price, one can't be too choosy, but the rough hewn quality of this tray wasn't quite what I expected for a "gourmet" tray. The shape and size of the tray are fine and true to the photo and written description. It can easily hold several small items (I used it for a glass of water, a condiment sized cup, and a salad plate and they fit comfortably). It would work well for display or for transporting a light meal or snack. However, the base of the tray and the sides are two separate pieces that on my tray, didn't fit together flushly and make me want to break out a piece of sandpaper. Also, the tray picked up water rings because I didn't realize one of the dishes I set on it (not the water glass; I used a coaster) was damp on the bottom. I may treat it with a wax finish to give it more protection in the future without affecting the finish too much. I feel like I could've gotten a tray of similar quality for less with a coupon or sale at a home goods store.

I saw this in a European magazine, and thought it was kind of a neat little gadget. Was I wrong! It is now one of the most useful tools in my kitchen. It is so easy to put a loaf of bread in, have neat slices and 95% of the crumbs contain, and it is turned from being a gadget to a most necessary tool! Being a personal chef it is hard to find tools that not only look good but provide a great service.

The wood is beautiful--nice enough to hang up in my dining room like a piece of art. The leather cord, which is attached through a metal grommet, makes displaying it easy. It's exactly the right size for the baguettes I buy and the guides make for perfectly-sized pieces of bread. Most of all, I like that all the crumbs from cutting remain on the tray so it's great for serving neatly at the table. I used to have to find a cutting board big enough to cut a baguette and then put the pieces in a basket, but this is easy and the pieces remain fresher since they butt up against each other until served. I highly recommend this!

Best idea since sliced bread. I am thrilled!! This one is for myself but will buy more for gifts.It is a good weight & great construction. Buy with confidence.

Gave this as a gift. It looks so beautiful! The wood is really nice. My only complaint is it’s a little large for a baguette.

great birthday present

I loved the design. I was also aware that it was small. I needed something that I can use for my tea cup and some cookies or other snacking items. Unfortunately this tray is even smaller than I thought. It could accommodate only saucer and a cup next to it. Even 7 to 8 inches salad plate did not fit in there. Moreover, it also did not have smooth surface. When we touch the surface we feel it little sticky and rough. I would probably sacrifice the size but not the finishing. I returned it.

Certainly overpriced for what you get. Love the wood but it has its consequences. Wood is warped so the tray does not fit nicely into the other. Should of expected considered it's wood.

Ever think you’d need a mitre saw for your bread, me either. Then I decided I needed more help with portion control so this came into our life’s. The slots are a little too far spaced apart. (I am trying to control portions!) Otherwise great!
