You need this for class. You probably also need the access code. I spent hours trying to make sure I purchased new and that the code was included, but I still got a beat up old copy of the book without an included access code. It cost hundreds of dollars, and I still had to go directly to Pearson for my access code purchase.Save yourself time, money and hassle... buy direct. If you can get away with the digital copy and that works for your class, DO THAT.For purposes of learning.... hope your class doesn't use this book. It isn't good at teaching concepts or formulas, and gives you lists of things to memorize and processes to remember. I want to understand what I am learning so as to prepare for future classes, not memorize enough to try and pass a test in this class. The online assignments (need the access code for these) are terrible, and recognize correct answers as being incorrect. Usually the assignments are quite long and take twice as long as doing it on paper because of how hard it is to type answers and equations for calculus.

So, I rented a textbook for school and it never really mentioned the condition but yes, I know used means used but never thought it will be like this. When it arrived the book is intact except that the last person or persons who rented it managed to rip off the front cover. Prob that person got frustrated with PreCal lol. Amazon just reattached it with packing tape and called it "Good Condition". I just hope that Amazon won't ding me when I return this when I'm doner because I didn't do this.

I rented this book last semester and wanted to re-rent it for this semester. I was charged full buy out price for the rental. I’ve contacted 2 different people and both of them stopped responding. It still shows as a rental on my end too.

When renting this textbook, it does NOT come with a mymathlab access code. Make sure that your class doesn't need mymathlab access if you want to rent this book.

If you download the E-text version you won't get a Math Lab registration number which most colleges require you to have in order to participate!This registration number costs anywhere from an additional 70$ to 120$ so do your self a favor and buy a new copy of the book for the extra price.
