No Taste-Test Yet Review
I have been interested in edible landscaping and perennial edibles for awhile now and just started ordering the plants last year. What I try to do is identify the most commonly grown annual plants in my hardiness zone (5b/6a) and look for perennial equivalents or near-equivalents. I also try to define beforehand how and where a particular plant will be situated in my yard, based on such considerations as height, density, soil and water requirements, and compatibility with other plants. Since perennial plants are notorious for not producing edible crops for a few years, these preliminary reviews will not take taste and etc. into account. Yet.I did receive these seeds on time. Not unexpectedly, they looked like small peas. I don't think there were enough but the number did fall within the advertised listing. As with annual legumes, I also inoculated the Siberian Peas before planting. Do a search here on Amazon to find the appropriate inoculant.

Bag of seeds, but how best to germinate?
My bag of seeds came without instructions. Experimented with three methods. Only method that led to germination was to refrigerate seeds in opaque envelope for 30 days, then sow directly into moist soil. Kept soil moist by watering 2X per day in protected spot (no wind). Got about 20% of the seeds to germinate. This plant reproduces by generating thousands of seeds each year, but still mostly reproduces through root suckering. Expect low germination rate compared to some other seeds, but 50 seeds at this price and some TLC is still less expensive than buying a more mature plant. Overall I'm happy with the product, but wish I did not have to use 2/3 of seed to experiment with methods that did not work.

I bought these seeds twice. The first time I had poor germination, but the second time I cold-wet stratified the seeds in the fridge for 1 month, and they began to sprout in the fridge, so I moved them to some moist potting soil and basically all of them germinated. Looking forward to getting some nitrogen-fixation in a permaculture setting, and some peas for chicken snacks.
