This is a great little product and for the price it's a true bargain. I bought this to replace a 30x loupe that really wasn't powerful enough and this mini microscope is amazing. The level of detail that it gives is truly awesome allowing you to inspect incredibly small things such as a grain of sand, an eye lash etc. You get the idea!One reviewer has commented about the LED light and I do agree in that it is very bright (good, you need a bright light) and if you were to use this for long periods of time it could cause eye strain. For less than £6 (when I bought) this is not trying to be a professional tool for all day use. This is a 'toy' but at the same time an incredibly powerful little microscope that can be used to open up a whole world that we don't normally see.Highly recommended!

It's a pro's versus con's situation.This isn't something for the serious enthusiast. Total plastic construction, fit is solid in places looser towards the transparent cover, but only minor. LED light is bright, when it stays on (worked 100% when I first got it, after a day or so started flickering intermittently probably due to a lose contact, and at one point the switch didn't work at all). Came in a small cardboard box that is barely larger than the unit that was inside a cheap plastic bag. Contents included an operation manual consisting of small sheet of paper printed on both sides, one side English one side Chinese, a cloth cover which the unit fits completely and snugly in with a plastic snap button that probably won't last too long to fasten the cover down.The unit itself is light and will fit in the pocket easily. Batteries were included. The focus dial is stiff (as is the zoom dial) and will take some force to turn which can make focusing hard. The dials do not protrude out from the side of the unit's body so people with big fingers and thumbs might find it even harder still to turn them.As for the magnifying function, works a gem! But subject matter needs to be within the very narrow focal range that undoubtedly comes with the territory. A little practice and you can see some incredible things through this little toy as long as the light stays on.Why three stars? Price against quality against functionality. It does what it says on the tin, but it doesn't have the quality or performance (let down by intermittent flickering light) that justifies it's price.

what an amazing gadget this is ! you can see so much detail when you look at things. I looked at a piece of hair with this it made me feel sick I have never seen hair that close up before great buy going to order another one of these soon the delivery speed was great as well

Ok, first the not so good: the dials are a bit fiddly and you need to get your coordination right. These are not necessarily negatives bear in mind, so no stars deducted!Being careful/slow when rotating the focus, and remembering that with any magnifier/microscope the movement looks as going oposite to what you'd normally expect - frustrated me a little in the beginning and it took me a short while to sort my coordination sorted.When I got used to it, wow, what a fabulous bit of kit. And for the price...Tips:1. Move magnifier really slow and after a while its a snap.2. I also use a contrasting background to the subject. E.g. a simple post-it note normally does the trick!

Great little microscope. The light works very well and overall the zoom is of good quality. the feel of the microscope itself is pretty solid for a small plastic microscope and at this price is more then what i expected.Been in use for a few months now and still going strong.does need a clean every now and then, but that all depends on what your trying to zoom in on!very happy with price and quality of product.

I was fooled into thinking this is larger than it is.In addition, like others, I found this impossible to use as the focus wheel is very small and stiff. It felt so flimsy that I feared I would break it if I tried to free it.Upon requesting a refund, I had to wait until just before the Amazon Claim deadline expired before actually receiving it. I will take care to read the one star reviews more carefully, in future.

The little dials on this don't feel comfortable to the thumb or finger. They are hard to use, too. The eye hole is too small. I found trying to use it very awkward and frustrating. I bought another product at the same time which was about half the price and worked great, with a wide eye hole and very easy focus. It was too bad that I spent the money on both of them, in the hope that one or the other would do the job. This one is just inferior, especially for the price, in my opinion.

This is such a great Tool. It was so popular in my family that I lost it to the Kids! Putting another one in my Grandsons Christmas Stocking, I know it will be well used. Easy to use and focus, even with glasses on. Small and lightweight for the pocket. So useful you will be examining everything!. Coins, seeds, plants and Hallmarks. Rocks and Gems. They all yield up their minute secrets easily.

This thing is a piece of crap, the batteries were dead and the thing was portly mad, also took almost a month to arrive.
