Works Great!!
I was a little skeptical of this product at first, but I used it as directed, and have to say, this product works!! I glued to pieces of rock together and within 24 hours, it was solid.

Using epoxy in and out of water
I used this epoxy both out of water and underwater to build some small rock shelves out of rubble rock and then attach them to my existing rock structure in my established reef tank. It took some experimenting to get it to work well/easily. Out of water I used it in conjunction with super glue gel. The epoxy was pretty easy to use out of water and I was able to mix it, put it on the pieces of rock I wanted to attach, and then held the pieces together firmly for a minute or two until the epoxy began to cure enough to hold on its own. Some pieces I put super glue gel onto first to get an initial light bond and then put the epoxy on so I wouldn't have to hold the pieces together myself while the epoxy cured (super glue did that part for me).Underwater was a bit more challenging at first. Eventually though, I found it best to mix a small ball of the epoxy and wait 1-2 minutes for it to start curing before going underwater with it. If you go underwater without allowing some cure time (1-2 minutes worked for me) it is very difficult to work with and sticks to your fingers rather than the rock work. However, when I let it cure first, I found it extremely easy to work with underwater and found the rock fastened quickly.I saw no negative affects on my corals, fish, or inverts (including my starfish). I have mostly LPS and softies with some SPS and none of them seemed to mind the stuff being in the tank. My dendros actually opened up when I put it in. The skimmer does go nuts and pulls a lot of water. I happened to use the epoxy right before a water change though, and after doing my 10% change the skimmer was back to normal.I only gave 4 stars because I would still say using super glue gel for small projects, like attaching small coral frags, is a lot easier than using epoxy. However for attaching larger, heavier objects with uneven surfaces (like rocks) epoxy is definitely the way to go for a stable hold that will last.

Used to make a wood background
I drilled the two pieces of wood I had, and screwed them together. I then used the expoxy to reinforce the joint and at the same time attach the wood to a heavy piece of slate that I used as the base. So far so good 3 months in.

With a little practice and proper preperations you will find nothing is more dependable or safer than epoxy putties
There are plenty of complainers who seem to spend more because of selfmade problems to fix and I can only laugh at them. Flat out I have not read about anything that works better or lasts longer than epoxy putties. I had no need to look for anything better than epoxy putties! I used all colors Instant ocean Holdfast white, Oceanswonders purple coralline, Two little fishies stone grey and Coralline red and they all work the same so I was able to mix them for custom colors and or unique tints. My technique is simple I prepared the areas for epoxy bond by roughing up and drilling the bond surfaces for maximum grabification. The rest was simple one application and I dont think I ever had to bond anything twice. I am glad I am possibly the only one to leave a 5 star rating knowing I used the right products for my high end decor set up to acheive the most professional look and nothing McKey moused or McGyvered so it will last for many years unchanged. I built a professional show quality FOWLR aquarium with a 100% artificial reef and the decor is completely made using Natures image coral and Red sea deco art all custom displayed on custom made Alterra grey rocks I covered with coralline colors for then marine rock effect. Best of all knowing my entire decor has 0 impact on any ocean reef and is 100% eco friendly makes for great conversation and pride. The live rock and aragonite crystal white sand are cultured and all my fish are tank raised by USA breeders. The wonderful smell of farting out roses is not only bliss but also saves alot of money! The epoxy putties have the most god aweful stanky odor when you start but after it fully cures it is completely odorless and proven fish safe cured or not. Oh and dont forget to use gloves because it can irritate skin.

Keep your expectations low.
I Think it depends on what you are using this for. I used it to fix two pieces of dry reef rock outside the tank. They stayed together ok. Then I tried to use it to fix a frag to a piece of rock under water. The problem is...most corals like some degree of water flow. It didn't work well enough to keep in place even under a small amount of flow. It just blew the frag off the rock. So I did the same in an area of no flow...several hours later, when I put the rock back into the flow, it blew the frag off the rock. Maybe I should have waited a day to put it back, but corals hate to be moved. I think I'm going to start using other non glue alternatives...like plastic rods and ties. Or else I will try gluing the frag to a piece of dry rock outside the tank and then put it in low flow. But this just isn't the solution I was looking for.

This helped me fix a huge error in my tank
I initially used fishing wire and super glue to hold a piece of Mopani driftwood and Okho "Dragon" stone together in an arch-like fashion. This failed as my 2 and 7 year old boys rough housed right into the table dislodging the arch and nearly trapping my halfmoon Betta beneath! I decided to give this a try and it worked fantastically! I caution that a little goes a LONG way and I ended up throwing away a lot of activated putty as it was simply too much and exposed itself out the sides of the hardscape. This was so effective I ended up needing only a very small amount in order to keep the patch concealed I added Susswassertang to the crevice.
