I'm going to rate the hat poorly because it was very expensive and did not stay on. I spent half the day chasing the hat down the beach. I wish it had a chin strap. Plus the pattern should be on the underside of the hat as well as the top. When looking at the baby face on while the hat is worn, you see mostly plain white. The hat costs almost as much as the bathing suit and I would have been disappointed at any price, but especially for something so expensive, I expected more.

This hat is so cute. I love that it is reversible. However it is too bad there isn't a tie or something to encourage baby to keep it on their head. My one year old takes it off constantly. It is very strong and soft material with two cute patterns sure to match most outfits or swimsuits. I will say, when you wash it don't dry it. I made this mistake by accident and it shrunk slightly, and it was already slightly too small. I wish I would have returned the item when we first purchased it as it wasn't quite right for our little one, but I was wishful she would wear it and it figured it was fine if it only lasted the season. It is a nice hat, but only if your little one keeps it on. Maybe consider sizing up too as my girl is very small for her age...

So this is a great hat but I took off 1 star because it runs small and 1 star for not having ties. I initially bought the 0-12m size for my 8 month old (average head size) and it was way to tight. I returned it for the next size up and while that fit just right, I was disappointed to find that the larger size does not come with chin ties. I don’t know any toddlers aged 1-2 that don’t try to pull hats off. I reached out to Ruffle Butts customer service to see if I could get an extra set of ties (I was willing to pay for them) and attach them myself but apparently they don’t have any extra. I’m a little annoyed that now I have to figure out straps but I love this hat because it matches her Ruffle Butts swim suit (also runs small).

Love how sweet this hat LOOKS....HATE that it is so impractical for babies! It does not have a string or strap to help it stay on or something to make it fit tighter on babies head. We spent the whole time chasing her hat on the beach and by the pool bc the hat kept flying away with every little breeze. Finally had to give up and put it away .Will look into returning this.

why any company would design a hat for toddlers WITHOUT a strap is beyond my comprehension, but even worse is why I didn't think of that when shopping for one! the hat is totally adorable, but my 14 month old is resistant to hats (of course she is!) and without a strap there is NO WAY this hat will stay on her head INSIDE, let alone in our yard or on a windy beach. because of that I'm afraid I'll have to return it. it's really too bad because the quality is lovely and the materials are nice and it looks so darn cute!

Super cute and seems good quality however I ordered the 12m-2t size for my 13 month old who is still in 9-12 size for clothes and hats and this hat barely fits her. It doesn’t go down very far on her head at all and seems like it’s going to pop off. She has on the smaller size of head so idk if it’s a mis sized hat or if the hats just run small.

Needed to buy gift for our great niece so searched "unique baby girl gift" and one particular link immediately caught my attention.....RUFFLEBUTTS. Never heard of this company, but then it's been years since I shopped for babies. Just utterly adorably precious with superior quality materials and workmanship. Got this sun hat to coordinate with 2 pc swimming outfit. Hat is reversible and material has SPF #50+ sun protection for soft, delicate baby skin.

So stinking cute but if the wind is blowing it will not stay on since it doesn’t have straps. And since you have to hold a baby this little the brim hits you in the back and tips the hat off. I give it 4 stars because it’s cute and durable, but I’m going to try to figure out how to sew on some straps
