Great book, with one curious omission
First, I'm happy to say this book is great and I would recommend it to anyone interested in doing this. The book is the very definition of thorough, as he covers every aspect of online bookselling. I started selling books this summer and want to grow my hobby into a viable business, and I'll gladly follow the exact path that Waynick lays out, as it is solid and insightful advice. He even goes into precise detail on the intricacies of forming your business plan, income forecasts, cash flow and so on. Wonderful content. However, on my first quick reading, I noticed something that isn't covered -- scanning tools. And that's odd. Waynick (and many others in this business) will tell you that a scanner is the number one tool that book buyers need. It's the difference between getting precise pricing information, and simply guessing. I bought the book with the expectation that the author would detail PDAs (ie, Palm Pilots) and smart phones. But . . . no dice. Not in this book. Now, Mr. Waynick DOES cover this subject on his website, and even provides links to scanning resources there, but I don't understand why the same information isn't discussed in this book.In my opinion, a stand-alone chapter on scanning tools would have made this book perfect, instead of just great. But even so, it is a fantastic resource.

A Must Have for Booksellers
I've been selling books and other items online for about 2 years. During that time I've read several "how - to" books on this type of business and I would have to say the Joe's book is the most thorough and detailed one yet.A brand new seller could be up and running in no time with the information presented here. This is the only bookselling book I've read that actually deals with cash flow and has more of a "business" mindset" than other books on the subject. There is a section on "incremental profits" that is a real eye opener and something I've never read anywhere else.Joe is correct that this is a business anyone can do and make a decent living working from home. You just have to be willing to work the business everyday. The only thing that this book really lacks was much information on Amazon's FBA program, which is a real game changer for online sellers. There are other books on the subject that can fill the gap however.I'm really looking forward to reading Joe's next book on advanced bookselling techniques.

Unbelievable Book!!
This book is a must read for anyone wanting to build an online business. I have read about 8 so far, as well as spent countless hours reading online. Other books have been very helpful, but this is a real road map - just what I was looking for. Some of the business items are basic, as I have owned a business, but the specifics to this type of business are invaluable. The real warning I would have, is not to buy this if you just want to dabble. It is certainly written for someone who wants to build a business, not just make a little money here and there. Because of that, there is a fair amount about managing cash flow, ROI, ROR, etc. Also, it is written for building a business, not making a ton of cash overnight with no work. However, if you want to build online bookselling into a sustainable way of life, this book will help. I am implementing the author's suggestions as we speak and will update in a couple of months.

Game Changer
This book delivers exactly what its title promises. Mr Waynick has cut through the clamor and glut of endless information and created a simple, streamlined path to easy internet book selling. The book is beautiful in its simplicity because it lays out a concrete foundation to get you up and running fast with money coming to you quickly, but also a foundation that appears solid enough to substantially build upon. I particularly like both his daily SLS strategy and his scouting plan, for their efficiency. I wish I'd found this book sooner because it distills the process down to the basics and makes the business seem jaw-droppingly simple. Not easy, mind you, but simple and doable. At the front of the book is a helpful quick start test to see if you will actually enjoy doing the work. This is a great read for anyone who is thinking of starting an internet bookselling business. I was literally up and running overnight using this playbook. My advice: Get it now and get going!

The Internet Booksellers Bible
Waynick's book gave me the direction I needed to take it to the next level. It started out with selling my own books online as an experiment last year. I enjoyed the experience so much that I searched on Amazon for basically an instruction manual. As an older individual, I felt like I needed to hit the ground running as time is a precious commodity.Joe explains step-by-step how to build your business with topics ranging from where to find your inventory to scanners and beyond. As a newbie, it's a source of information to reference when questions pop up in my mind about an aspect of online bookselling. He, also, is the moderator of an online booksellers forum so there's plenty of support with taking on a new business endeavor. It's been a great way of clarifying certain ideas I was unsure of and learning much more from fellow online booksellers.

Total Book Selling Knowledge
I am a seller on Amazon, and continuously read and mentally process ways to increase my book selling knowledge. Your book has been enlightening. Your gift of writing makes it read as a novel. I was so impressed with what you have shared ... I agree feedback is very important. My feedback is 100%, I would like to keep it that way, and I work hard to please my customers. Now that I am serious about building an internet book business I will have your book in one hand and a cellphone/scanner in the other. As said, this is an easy read, not just pages and pages of meaningless words, and repeated material chapter after chapter. This is a go-to reference book. Thank you Joe for sharing your years of book selling.

Useful book
This is a very useful book for anybody wanting to start selling books. It appears to be aimed more for the US market but it is still full of good tips.

Better for the American market that the Canadian market...
The book is better suited for the American market. I live in Canada where postage is a lot more expensive than the USA postage charges. The book has solid advise dependent on the country you live in. Also, most of the free book sites advertised in the book are again only usable if you are living in the USA as you can not sign up to them without an American address and bank account to set-up an account to begin selling. Regardless of the obstacles I am putting the book to good use by making the necessary adjustments to make it work in Canada. So, overall I would recommend the book as long as the people buying it realize that you may have to make a few changes in the written instructions to make it work for you. You will have to work a little harder but if this is what you want to do full or part time than this business may be for you.

Very disappointed in this book
Very disappointed in this book. It promised much but delivered little. I suppose if you have no business experience, it might be fine for a primer, but no information on new software programs - such as Delicious Library, Homebase and the many others.
