Extending and collapsing this ladder is a joke and it's flimsy
I thought this ladder was terrible. I bought it with high expectations to reach high places and have easy small storage and carrying. But it's very flimsy and feels unsafe when you climb up and down it with it extended. The last step is a large step coming down is a large step since you have to step down the regular distance plus all the unused stacked rungs. But the biggest problem was extending and retracting the ladder itself. It did not do either easily. When extending it, the first four usually go up easily, but the last several frequently get caught halfway up and you're left to wonder if they're going to hold in that halfway up position. Getting them to continue was difficult. And then the last few rungs won't just pull up because the entire ladder lifts off the ground and you don't have a 3rd hand to both pull down and lift up at the same time. Then retracting the ladder is a dangerous joke. The left and right switches sometimes work great and one section will collapse. But mostly you have to frustratingly keep playing with different sections until they collapse. Sometimes they collapse half way. Sometimes one side starts and the other side won't give so you have to re-lock the loosened side and try it again or move to another segment and hop to have luck. When one does finally collapse, it's a startling surprise and you have to be grateful you didn't leave a finger or hand in-between. I found myself pounding and shaking the ladder. Eventually it would all extend and collapse. But forget about what people are showing in their videos of the entire thing collapsing conveniently at once. That never happened.I really wanted this thing to work. Great idea. But I returned it.

What a slick invention....
This is probably one of the best things I have ever gotten from Amazon. I have several extension ladders, but all of them are very cumbersome. I needed to paint the stairwell of my home, so I went to YouTube to see if there were any tips or tricks. Sure enough, someone was using a telescoping ladder. I had no problems painting and adjusting the ladder as needed and I'm a 74 year-old female.....and yes my kids thought I was crazy trying to paint the stairwell. Great tool and well built. Very happy with this purchase

fantastic scoping ladder, very sturdy
This is a fantastic product. Better in every way than a regular straight ladder, and easily stowable.Very sturdy, yet reasonably light to carry. Very tall. And so easy to transport and stow.A couple notes :(1) It comes with hooks for the top. The instructions don't tell you how to attach the hooks. You need to pop off 2 rubber plugs in the top corners, to expose the hook attachment points, which is not easy. I just threw the plugs away, and leave the hooks permanently attached.(2) When collapsing the ladder stages, watch your hand positioning -- it's easy to crush your hand or strip your skin as the sections slide down.

rungs did not lock in - had to be fully extended which made it too tall
I returned the ladder - too tall for my needs and the rungs would not lock in. The ladder either had to be fully extended or completely down.

Collapsed under me while coming down from a roof
Dangerous product! Do not buy.I used it 6-7 times in the 6 weeks since I received it.First problem, was yoy have to extend from the bottom up, meaning yoy need to lean it away from the wall, guess how far you need it extended, and the position against the wall. Many other similar ladders allow you to extend from the top rung up, meaning yoy can extend it to the necessary height one rung at a time when the ladder is positioned where you need it. But... I can live with thatWhat I can't live with, is the ladder spontaneously collapsing when I'm coming back down off of a roof. Meaning, it was securely latched when I went up, but as soon as my second foot went on it on the way down, it collapsed all he way down. Now it won't extend or retract. Of course, I'm a couple weeks past the return windows.... wated my money, luckily I didn't break my back in the process.
