The front cover of this book should be enough to sell this book: 1) Salafi scholars 2) answering questions from the West, 3) as compiled and translated by Moosaa Richardson. This short review will aim to give some further information about the book to what should already be an attractive investment. As the translator mentions in his introduction, "In front of you is a precious archive of 55 questions answered by recognized people of knowledge." Those recognized people of knowledge as sh. Rabee' al-Madkhali, sh. 'Ubayd al-Jaabiri, and sh. Muhammad Bazmool, with the majority of material coming from the last of the three. As Moosaa Richardson mentions, all of these questions are ones that he received from people in the West while he was pursuing his studies in Saudi Arabia, and which he then personally directed to these scholars under whom he studied during that period.The book has several distinguishing features that add to its value:1) It contains short biographies of each one of the scholars mentioned above. These biographies each contain some "personal glimpses" into their lives from the perspective of their student.2) A quality translation that reads naturally.3) Valuable footnotes. The translator seems to allude to his method in one question by writing, "I also provide a needed service to the translations by notes that reference the Verses of the Qur'an mentioned, the sources of the narrations used, and other comments necessary to understand the translation." This seems to be an accurate description of the valuable service Moosaa Richardson has provided for the translations and for the readers.Furthermore, this book helps to connect readers with some of the well-known scholars of our day, and for many who are not able to read or understand Arabic, it provides a window into the high caliber of answers that great scholarship produces. For many of their answers not only address the question immediately at hand, but also provide additional benefits, general principles, or illustrate the wisdom and insight of these great scholars (may Allah preserve them). And if one needed any more reason to purchase this book, remember that it will support our brother, the translator, in his efforts to continue educating us and connecting us to the scholars.

I benefitted from this compilation of questions and answers by coming across new information about my religion and being able to revise some things I had already known. I found scanning through the pages a breeze because of the ease of use through kindle. The footnotes are helpful and give some added clarifications at times. It's easy to understand and touches on matters related to creed and belief which is the foundation of our religion. However, issues related to jurisprudence are addressed as well making the content varied and very beneficial. Salafism has been briefly and sufficiently clarified giving the readers an authentic understanding of it in contrast with the lies and slanders spread by deviant sects and irresponsible media outlets.

I ordered this book looking for a fatwa for a particular subject. However, upon reading through the pages I found much benefit that I didn't plan for. Alhamdulillah and Allah reward all of those involved. I would be very interested in seeing a volume 2 published as well.
