DeCHOKER Anti-Choking Device for Adults (Ages 12 Years and up)

I bought this become one time I was alone and eating something and almost choked to death. It was very scary. I bought this device now and practiced with it and may I never have to use it.

A much needed tool. Even though I know how to do the heimlich maneuver, I honestly cannot say that I would be able to accurately administer the heimlich in a panicked situation. I love that I don't have to think, prepare or worry about how I would help someone when choking anymore, because the Dechoker is simple to use and WORKS! Do not hesitate to purchase this. I highly recommend this.I understand that a pet version may be coming out and I will be one of the first to purchase that too.

This product is a must have for new parents. I have 3 of these one in each size. There is nothing more terrifying than watching your child or loved one choke and having one of these near by gives you the ability to save someone's life.The build quality is great. Definitely recommend reading the instructions and practicing the pull and push action and getting a seal on someone's face. If this is for a child I recommend holding it up close to their face to make sure it would fit correctly.

I do not have personal experience using the Dechoker device. However, based on the available information, the Dechoker seems to be a potentially life-saving device that can aid in removing an obstruction in a choking victim's airway. If I find myself in a situation in need of saving this device could prove to be priceless. I live alone and if I should find myself choking I would rather have this device to help myself than not.

Although I haven’t used this product yet I’m extremely happy to have it in my home. We live out in the country and my daughter almost choked. By the time the EMS could get here it would be to late. Luckily I was able to finally get the Heimlich to work. I ordered this the same day and have more peace of mind. I love that I can use it on myself as well by my self. Pray I never have to use it but so thankful for this product!

I'm not sure how well it will work if used in an emergency but my brother is a physician, and said it works. So take it as you will, a life is worth the price of the device if it could very well be beneficial to you. That being said, the reason I said it has a low value for the money is because they could sell it for a bit cheaper. It is less than a dollar to make, yet they charge what they do. I coughed it up out of necessity.

This is a no brainer product, my husband was chocking on food sadly my son and I both couldn’t help save my husband and he ended up saving himself by jamming his chest into the counter.. after that traumatic day I ordered this because I never want to see this happen to anyone in front of my own eyes again and feeling helpless not being able to clear the food out and watching him chock in front of us.. this will save us from any of that!!

***update to prior review, my son was choking tonight and the heimlich wasn't working. We tried the dechoker and nadda, there was no suction at all no matter how many times we tried. Thank God he was able to force it out by his own. So dispointed in this device. A real let down. My son had cancer when he was 9 years old. The tumor was so large it pushed through his airway. After 2 years of chemotherapy amd radiation he was declared cancer free. However the scar tissue has caused him to have a restricted airway. Now at age 24 he has to have all his food cut up to tiny piece so he doesn't choke but this doesn't always work. There have been at least 4 times when we have had to heimlich him. The last time he choked I was unable to get the food dislodged and had to call 911. While on the phone with the 911 operator he passed out and stopped breathing. This was beyond scary for me. The 911 operator called it a code to the EMTS. Thankfully before the ambulance got to my home my son woke and the food dislodged itself. I really thought that this was it, that I was gonna lose my son.Later that week I shared with my boss about what had transpired and how I wished there was something out there that could help in a choking situation when the heimlich doesn't work. The very next day he sent me a text saying he saw an add on his phone for the Dechoker. I immediately researched the item and knew it was exactly what I wanted, so much that I bought 2 of them. One for my home and one for my dads house when we visit him. Thankfully we have not had to use it yet but it makes me feel a bit more at ease knowing I have this as a backup.
